CLS63 AMG noise engine first start?
Hello! I have a CLS63 2007 that i bought for 3weeks ago. And i heard something from the engine one day and i thought it is nothing to worry about. But then i hear it evry time when the car is cold and have been on the parking for like 5-6 hours only the first start, it is like metal to metal it sounds not good! But if i turn the car of and try it again then the sound do not come up no more? Just the first start after the car has been on the parkning for some time.
I checkt the oillevel and it was OK.
What could it be?
The km is 71000km.

If the noise only lasts for less than 1 minute when you start the car cold, it is probably the bearing inside the air pump. You can open it up and change the bearing if you are handy or just replace the complete air pump. Look at my picture, try and locate it on your motor and have someone else start the car while you listen close to the motor.

Hmm, how could it be the airpump? Why? What do the airpump have for function? It sounds only first engine start. Like the valve is hitting something..

Hmm.. Does that go on the Warranty? :-( My third AMG and my third problem with a AMG engine... Is that a problem or can i drive with that problem?

The problem was solved by a Mercedes service and i dont now how to explain it but it was two pinions in the engine that was for the chain he needed to replace. And he said this is a construciton fault from AMG on early 07.. It costed about 6500$..
