changing out door pins and ring, how to remove ring?

so i got the actual pin out by unscrewing it, but the surround does no want to pry out nor does it seem to want to unscrew. the new amg ones i have seem to have a fine thread but i cant get the stock black surround to come out of the panel.

cans someone point me in the right direction? is destroying the surround the only way?

you cant put the new rings over the old, the old ones need to be removed first, then the new ones installed in place of them. the OD of the pins is .250 and the ID of the oem rings is around .200 pins wont fit old rings.

Is there a way to salvage the old rings or do i have to destroy them to remove them?

you could take the whole door off and have peek. It looks like its just pressure fit in there.
