Couldn't shift car into gear...
Started my car (09 CLS63) up this am for work and I couldn't put it into reverse. The shifter moved to the right, but that was it, I couldn't pull it back to R, N or D. It appeared as if it was locked... Turned the car off and restarted and same thing. Turned it off again and restarted and all was well.
Any thoughts on this?

I was at the track the other day and had mine in dyno mode. I drove past the water box and went to reverse to just get my rear tires into it. Well it wouldnt go into reverse or drive after that. So I shut it down and turned it back on, and all was well like you stated.
Later I noticed a check engine light and the code said it had an incorrect gear ratio. I havent had the probelm since.

^+1, bad brake indicator switch. Had this happen to me and ended up being an $18 part that got me stranded, had it replaced for cheap at StarTech.

Did it also mess with the parking sensors? I am getting errors when driving on the freeway......starts beeping like crazy...always have to disable the parking sensors with the button near gear shifter.

I don't have parking sensors on my car so I couldn't tell you, but it did mess with SpeedTronic, ESP, and all of the associated services so I have a feeling it probably would.
