Figured Id share this here, p0410 secondary air injection , my car sat for a bit and code came on after, I simply removed and put back on the 40 fuse in the engine bay fuse box on the drivers side. A somewhat "reset" if you will. A must try before you order relays and replacement pumps! May not work for everyone but it did for me !
Cheers !
Edit: If that doesn't work try the vacuum lines for any cracks or stiff hardened areas. Next step after that would be to test second air air pump and relay.

I have a low end scanner and found the code and reset it on my 98 SL500. Not sure whether it has the same effect as pulling in the fuse but should find out soon.
Can someone tell me where the pump and relay are located?
I have a problem logging in as ou1954 but ou195 works for now with a temp password. Strange.

Well, I found the pump on a parts diagram and on the engine. The parts are all expensive.
The unfortunate thing is that the engine sort of hesitates when accelerating when not in gear.
I fear that the pump may have a problem but there is a chance that that shut-off valve 000 140 25 60 could be sticking or possibly the sensor, 011 42 06 17 may have a problem. I don't know whether either of those parts can be removed and cleaned.
