'06 CLS 55, 200kms, $20g's. What am I getting into?
I've never been a Benz guy, but the opportunity for an '06 CLS 55 came my way, and for $20,000 (cdn) I'm not sure if it's one I should explore.
With that many kms on it, in your opinions am I setting myself up for stress or what?! I *BABY* my cars (waxed twice a month, rarely rain driven, never beat on them, never gun it off the line, rarely take the RPMs past 3.5 or 4) and the seller doesn't - at least not to my level.
He says it's all been maintained at the stealership, but the car didn't ride as smooth as I'd expect from a Benz of such caliber; my 13yo 7-series is smoother. It's likely a wheel balancing or wheel bearing issue, but I'd consider that 'small stuff' in the grand scheme of buying a car. I'm more concerned with a supercharger blowing up or something, and never having had a supercharger before I'm not sure what's involved with that.
So far all I know is that I can lower it a little with a quick trip to the stealership, so (assuming that's true) half my work's already done!
Anyone got any advice for me? Things to look out for, what to test?
He says it's never been winter driven, but I've seen it out once or twice in the winter months. I wouldn't say it's been "beat" on, but it's been 'tested', let's say. Other than that it gases and brakes in a straight line, doesn't pull to either side, and everything works.

It's impossible NOT to in that thing! I just don't beat on them (at least till I know them).
Like...you gotta wait a week or two before dropping the "so.......what're your thoughts on the back door?" -convo on a new gf. You know. Heh heh
Thanks guys, I was gonna take it by a stealership anyway so a comp test is a good idea. I was looking for any common problems specific to that particular car that maybe I should be extra aware of, but from reading around it doesn't seem like there are many.
I know to keep a few G's around for incidentals just in case though
