cls63 brake caliper stuck esp and abs light on
Hi I'm new here to MBWORLD and I'm was curious if anyone here has had a similar problem. Back in September I came in contact with a pretty big pothole that I tried dodging (but still managed to hit it) and it caused damage to my front strut airbag and managed to also separate my rear sub frame. Anyways I had these parts replaced and just recently a starting getting a squeaking metal on metal sound after braking , replaced rotors and pads and still got the same noise and yesterday the abs esp and auto headlight inoperable came on and appears caliper is stuck or failed I'm assuming.
Can anyone help? ?? And could I have possibly damaged the caliper after impact of that pothole? ? Help! Lol

That had to be one big #*||**# pothole to damage the vehicle as you say it did. Given the damage done do not rule out the possibility of the caliper sticking but not in the traditional sense. If the hit damaged the strut and associated parts it may have caused the caliper attaching point to be bent and that would be the cause of the squeal. On its on just the severe bump would not damage the caliper unless it was hit on the caliper and then it would more likely crack than bend. But if the attachment point is bent it will **** the caliper causing the squeal you are describing. The friction is also bad for the components because as heat builds from the friction the brake fluid gets hot and there are a number of lights on the dash which means codes in the OBD 2. Get them read and post the results but it sounds like something is bent. Good luck

Hey.. thanks for the reply and information. It ended being the wheel hub bearing I guess it got damaged as well from impact and it failed is what caused the lights abs,srs,esp because all bearing had fallen out I guess and this caused the wheel to wobble back and forth causing inaccurate reading for the computer on board. Getting fixed now under warranty. ...yaay
