New toy!should I get it???

Hello everyone

My name is amer,As you can see Im new here and this is my first thread & post . I've been reading a lot of threads here lately but haven't considered joining the community as I'm not a mercedes owner "YET"
We have been thinking about buying a used AMG for some time now;a 2009 MB CLS63 AMG black with red&black interior. Really nice car very clean very well maintained,so before the purchase I thought it would be wise to do a full research on it as its my first "high performace" car thats when I found this forum and started reading the owners feedbacks on the car.so far it was all about how good the car is,etc..... and all the complaints and problems were minor stuff that happens with every car.but what I want to know from you experienced guys is how is the maintaining and how much do you pay for a full maintenance service,is it different from the newer models?cheaper?more expensive?just thought it would different since its a bit old car

I know what im asking is really random and been out for many times but I really appreciate it if I can get any answers from you guys

Edit:oh and I forgot to mention that this is my second car and it will replace my first car(ford edge)that I owned for 5 years now(i was thinking about a SRT scatpack challenger or used mustang GT PP but this car stole my heart the moment I saw it )as I mentioned earlier this will be my first sports car so any tips or opinions from you guys would be appreciated
Thank you

If you're willing to tackle basic maintenance yourself it's no big deal, otherwise you've got to pay to play. It's still a hundred thousand dollar car when it needs maintenance.
Love those wheels!

Thanks man

Yes.i can handle the easy stuff like changing oil and filters myself but what im really curious about is how much would a full service(including full brake job, differential servicing,etc...) would cost?

It doesn't matter i know its a luxury car and you gotta pay for the performance and luxury you get.but I need to prepare myself for the expenses as i have to pay for college too
but if its too much I can't handle,I'll just quit school

I purchased my CLS last year and I love the car. I also purchased an 09, but I also purchased an aftermarket warranty thru USAA when I purchased the car. Shortly after I purchased the car, I had a check engine light, transmission pan leak, and a couple other things. The extended warranty covered all the repairs with no questions. I recommend doing your research and finding an aftermarket warranty with an AMG. These cars love to go through tires due to the camber so be prepared to get 10k miles most from tires. Brakes can be outrageous if you go to the dealer for parts. If you do your research on the W204 C63 forum they have a good solution to keep the 2 piece rotors under 1000. These cars require service once a year or every 10000 miles. One year is major service, one year is a minor service. The minor can range but typically around 250. The major service is around 1000. Hope this helps answer some questions. It is an awesome car to have

Thanks for the wise words man

Actually a friend of mine told me about an aftermarket warranty offered by a Mercedes specialist but I didn't take it seriously because of all the things I hear from owners about how bulletproof the engine is . I'll visit the garage tomorrow for inquiry about the warranty.

Another thing I would like to ask you is about the rev match(throttle blip) technology on the 09 + models.is it really as cool as they say and worth the extra $$???and overall how was your experience with the car.what did you like and didn't like about it?any other problems except for what you mentioned earlier???
