Trans fluid filter change with conductor sleeve question

Quick question all. I did a trans fluid and filter change today along with differential oil and engine oil change with both serpentine belts on the CLS 55 AMG at 47,955 miles. Everything went fairly smoothly but I have a question on the trans conductor sleeve can lock connector. I replaced this sleeve and there was a bit of oil in the unit in the car so glad I changed it out. Upon reinstalling the harness into the sleeve I could not get it 100% flush... Please see picture. I did not get any errors for an open or poor connection to the TCM. The latch arm is all the way up. Is this ok? I am leary about water intrusion.

The trans oil looked good and was not burned and the differential oil was very clean still... Went with Motul 75w-140 meets 235.61 spec

I wanted to shout out to FCP Euro for nice complete kits for trans filter and oil changes along with a helpful DIY blog along with the wisdom from you all here!! 722.6 conductor sleeve connector

Hello, if I understand you correctly are you asking did I get the harness plug connected to the conductor plate pins correctly?
At this juncture I would have to say yes only because the transmission shifts and works perfectly and there are no warning lights or messages that popped up indicating faults. I would believe that if I had some mismatched connections I would get some errors or trans would not work as designed.

I have not crawled back under the car yet to mess with the harness plug in order to get it removed from the connector sleeve (currently stuck) although I can clock the harness plug around when I have the locking latch down on the unlock position.

I should have marked the harness plug and the connector sleeve work alignment marks and then transposed the alignment mark from old connector sleeve to the new one to facilitate reconnecting.

Went to go drive the car today and it was derated to second gear only. My guess is a limp mode sure to bad connection at that plug since it's not seated going to mess with it morning when I get home. No faults showing though on dash.

Yes it is in limp mode. Did you change the 13 pin connector that is giving you a headache? Should have because one of the two O rings leak and get oil onto the connector which wicks up into the TCM. You need to change it out, then clear the transmission codes with a high end scanner or Star system. If you don't clear the codes the transmission will remain in limp mode. Also you should have a CEL light on the dash because the transmission codes are not pending anymore they are set. Check your bulb in the CEL light.

Hello, I did change the electrical sleeve connector that mates the harness to conductor plate and there was a small amount of fluid in the original connector before I replaced it. I just bought an icarsoft mbii scanner and checked codes and I got called P2101 for shift solenoid shorted to ground. I cleared all transmission codes and engine codes and after test drive the P2101 comes back. Transmission still in limp mode. I think this scanner will work and had enough functionality but this my first experience with it and this car. This only happened after I reset the adaptive shift parameters that the transmission went into limp mode. I have not tried to reset them again.
thank you!
