Supercharger Oil Capacity

Hey Guys. New AMG Owner. Picked up a CLS55 from a member here a few days ago. I did some digging and I know what oil to use for the blower (Mobile 1 Jet II) but how much of it do I need? How many ounces?

To learn that you need to post the VIN which lists the capacities!

If you are the owner and of driving age you would know what document in your possession includes the VIN. I ask that because it saves me much time in searching the cars documents for the correct answer---that's my time not yours!

I was not implying all VIN's were the same. But I did assume all the superchargers were the same.

I PM'd you the VIN. I certainly appreciate you looking into it for me.

I think you have been given some bad information---the mechanical screw compressor on your VIN is "lubed for life"---don't FA with it, simply drive it!
Who told you your car has a blower.--don't forget the thanks tab!

Anybody who thinks ANY fluid is for life in a mechanical situation needs their head examined. I change the oil every 100k or so. No need to get a full can of Mobil Jet Oil II. The part number for the oil is A0009896201 or get ACDelco Supercharger Oil 10-4041 from ebay.

Exactly.

So is the AC Delco stuff identical? I remember as a kid tinkering with my GTP I used this stuff on my Eaton M90 supercharger. It smelled awful.

I have used it twice now...i am a strong believer in fresh fluids. 240K on my girl with first engine, tranny and supercharger. No arguing with results

BTW i bought mine from autohausaz.com...its like $14 or so.

There are two detailed treads on this in the 211 AMG forum. If you haven't done this yet, you should. search supercharger bearings.

Yowzer nice start you got there, don't know why the chap earlier is so uptight.
Anyway for what it's worth I did this about 3 weeks ago, as the others have said some nice threads on this in the W211 e55 forum. I used Mobil jet II oil and if I remember I think it was about 150ml. It's not alot. Welcome to the community mate, CLS55 is a beautiful car. Still love mine as much as the day I bought her.
