Angry 2007 W219 CLS63 AMG Trans questions

Hey guys sorry to pick your brains a little. Im driving home on cruise control and all of a sudden the car states "Cruise controls unavailable" or something like that (I know it was the same message as when you have traction control off and try to turn it on) so I put my foot on accelerator and nothing. I pull to the side of the rode and got car towed to Benz. there telling me I need a new transmission (No grinding nor driving was done after I pulled to the side) they want 10k to do this work but tech said he's never seen the plug fall off (oval orange cover on trans) has this happened to anyone on here before? im wondering what the part number is was going to try and seal it with that oval and put new fluid in to see if that would make it work before I spend all of 10k on a car worth 15k

any information is greatly appreciated

The dealers always want to sell you expensive parts. You want to see where this plug came out of because most are in with metal screwin plugs that are a real b- - - - - to get out. And look at it this way. What have you got to lose? If the tranny is cocked you spent under 100.00 in fluids to make sure. But if its not you just saved 10 large and the dealer will need to find someone else to get the christmas bonus money from for his ”loyal employees”. And now that im looking at the picture you sent of them tranny, if that is the yellow plug its an inspection plug that has nothing to do with operation. You need it scanned by someone other than the dealer for codes. Good luck.
