Transmission control module - sticking in gear - sorted
hi all I just wanted to share this a it was an issue with the 7G gearbox on my cls320 cdi I recently bought .
the car would drop out of cruise and stick in gear ... and refuse to change down etc . Stop key out key in - fine .
then it would so it again more regularly .
I look the car to a gearbox specialist in Reading who were helpful and told me it’s the module for the gearbox. And the cost to replace was 1700 ... ouch .

so the alternative - get the module removed ( I used Mercanix - mobile merc specialist in Berkshire ) Mike read the fault codes and I confirmed these with the company who I sent he module to , that they could fix the codes .
picture attached .

I then sent the TCM off to Essexrecons
they turned it around in 4 days and sent it back (£195) with a lifetime warranty .
mike the refitted the unit - new fluid and seals - no need for new solenoids .

total cost £545 including the Vat

the car runs smooth as silk . Really really lovely .

so this is for anyone with gearbox issues . Get the TCM repaired if you have the same fault codes - and see what a massive difference it makes !
