With the weather becoming more mild, I swapped over to the Japan Racing SL-01 wheels with the new 60mm Mercedes logo center caps

When I walked to my car at work, I imagined that this is how it would look if I were to meet these 2 cars on the German autobahn

I got the same shorties 😁

I‘m currently waiting for more parts to start another „while I‘m in there“ session 😅

Washed the car as preparation for a big car meet in the Netherlands. Also cleaned the quad exhaust tips

Thats the best approach, altough the wallet disagrees haha

Please note that I had to send them back as they did not fit (the bolt holes did not line up at all)

Could help myself and already replaced the interior filter. The previous filter was from Kamoka (also anti bacterial).

Hengst added some extra foam

Kamoka did good as it trapped quite some dirt

New interior fan clearly visible

Also replaced both air filters, also from Hengst. The airfilters trapped a lot of dirt and small flies

When I was ordering parts, I noticed that the SAI solenoid was only 20 euros or so, so I decided to replace it, because why not

Old vs new. The solenoid has a small screen filter, I added a small airfilter for extra protection as I live in a dusty environment

Overkill

@Abby87426 Thanks a lot for your comment, much appreciated!

For the dashcam, I routed the cable via the driver A-pillar > under the steering wheel > the room under the small compartment before the shifter. I disconnected the plug to cigarette lighter and made extra connections there to connect the USB cigarette lighter + volt gauge / small bulb for the compartment and the dashcam.

I used these type of blocks so its totally reversible without the need to cut into original cabling:

Went to a local Porsche specialist to pick up an oil cap. The AMG one was leaking and I used an oil cap from our Volkswagen Lupo 1.4 which worked well, but didnt look the part. So I dished out 40 bucks for a Porsche oil cap

Partnr: 9P1115423A

The $5 VW Lupo oil cap

The $40 Porsche oil cap

I don't have the oil filler neck anymore, as that is just there to help with filling oil and is a potential oil leak because there it a simple seal there. And if you want to replace the seal, you need to reseal the breather chamber and that is something I'm looking forward to (super tedious)

Waited for a couple of months, but the drivers side headlight did not drop in price. So bit the bullet and bought it at full price for about 715 euro.

Made a bigger difference than expected, but you can only see that once you have the 2 units next to each other.

I was able to swap out the headlight in about 2 hours 15 minutes That is a record somewhere right haha

The drivers side has a hotspot again! This is with LED bulbs btw. See the comparison shot with the old headlight unit (last picture)

As the bumper was off, I also replaced the Airmatic airfilter again for a Hengst filter

I was a little bit bored, so I went ahead with the spark plug change. Gapped them from factory 0.75mm to 0.8mm. They have been in the car for almost 2 years 20.000km. The color looks on point, but there was quite some oil on them due to the rocker cover gaskets leaking.

Bonnet / hood in service position

Found out that I had 2 different indicator bulbs, got that corrected in the meantime

Went ahead with Beru UPT14P spark plugs again. They work great and are very cost effective (about 4-5 euros a piece). Spark plug gap is set to 75mm from factory

Color looks about right

First Bank swapped out. The plugs at back of the engine had most oil on them (where it was leaking on the half moon seal)

My boy Nelson came to see whats up

All 16 plugs swapped

Last friday, I serviced the gearbox again. It wasnt overly bad, but I had the idea that it could be way better.

I replaced:
- PWM solenoid (aka torque converter lockup solenoid), more info > https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...em-solved.html
- All O-rings for the other solenoids
- 2x upper filters for the valve body
- 2x strainers (lower portion) for the valve body
- New transmission filter
- Fresh LiquiMoly ATF1800 fluid
- 6x New bolts for transmission pan

2x filters

2x strainers

The biggest difference was the sealing of the new O-rings. With the old O-rings I could remove the solenoids out of the valve body with ease. With the new O-rings I felt the resistance again. In other words, it was sealing again.

CLS55 on the operation table

Valve body out. I replaced the conductor plate not too long ago, so no worries there

After removing a ton of T30 bolts, you can split the valve body in half

Don't do this to the bottom part, as it has the 2 strainers and a number of plastic/steel ***** which will fall out!

The 2 filters, you can remove them without splitting the valve body

The 2 strainers are "spring loaded" by the plastic tab on the bottom. I felt a big difference in them. One of the strainers seemed to be "contaminated"

All the T30 bolts! I torqued them all twice (8Nm), just to be absolutely sure

2 filters as seen from top side

Clean transmission pan and clean magnet. The magnet was covered in goo?

All bolted together

The remnants. Check the left strainer
