v12 tt cls???
A twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder version of the luxury automaker's new CLS sedan/coupe hybrid is also expected to be produced.
havent seen this before here.
Have you looked in the engine bay of the E55 and an SL65. For the amount of work that it will take to stuff the V12 into the E class they could develop a whole new model.
Seriously, take a look. It would be fun to see from Brabus how many hours it took them to build the E V12 show car that they built.
I also know anything can be done but why?
Just my .02
having said that, i really don't see what's the big deal of v12 biturbo on a family sedan that's already planty fast as it is. making Pamela Anderson's breasts even bigger just doesn't make her more attractive.
.........I understand your skepticism, but I tried to place an order for an A-class and the dealer did not even know what I was talking about, so at least this particular dealer does not take deposits for things that are not in the pipeline. I was approached by the dealer regarding the CLS65. It was not enquiry I initiated.

But there?s more news from AMG ? they will be fitting the 600 horsepower twin-turbo V12 to the CLS body to create the CLS65 AMG. The lives of the new M5 and upcoming RS6, and S-Type R are about going to become quite difficult?

And, just in case the Porsche GT Coupe ends up with an advantage, the next episode of the mad Merc CLS saga will go down late in 2007 with ? believe it or not ? a new 465kW six-litre version of AMG?s biturbo V12 CLS65 AMG.

The basic oil-burner will be a tuned 204bhp 3.2-litre unit from that E320 CDI. But this big news will be that all-new 4.0-litre V8 diesel in a CLS400 CDI. This 252bhp engine will also go on to gift that E-Class and S-Class. Performance fans will be offered this CLS55 AMG in 2006, and a 6.3-litre V12, with up to 600bhp, is being prepared for a CLS65 AMG.

Also expect a redesigned, bigger S-class sedan. Next year, the Alabama plant cranks up for the second-generation M-class, the next G-class, and an all-new R-class range of SUVs coming from the same platform. AMG is also preparing its version of the CLS500?the CLS65?which will share its 604-hp V-12 with the CL65 and SL65 and carry a six-figure price.

..........this of course is not proof that there will indeed be a CLS65, but it gives an indication.

Just for fun I will bet you a real nice bottle of wine that we will not see a CLS65 V12 BiTurbo no matter what any car magazine says, I do hovever think we will see a CLS63 and at some point it may be a BiTurbo motor but a V8. So V12 you get a bottle, V8 I get one? What's the time limit?
I just don't believe that any of the car magazines really know what they are talking about. No one ever goes back and trues up what they reported as "rumors." They were reporting that a CLS65 was running around test tracks over a year ago with a pictures of the CLS55.
All in good fun!

I hope it is a V8 6.3 because I would get that and pass on the CLS55 on which I have pruposely not taken delivery of yet....(if the delay is reasonable of course..)

It would be wise disclose all the "fine print" in this bet or I'm afraid you will probably lose a fine bottle of wine.
If your bet is that the CLS65 AMG won't be produced at all, you might be in for a surprise.
Maybe Mercedes won't produce the CLS65 AMG for the US market, but if they have already started the development of such a car, it would be very stupid for them to stop at this point.
And seeing that the S65 AMG will be released in the US, I don't see why they wouldn't come out with a CLS65 AMG as well. Besides, Mercedes already said that the new engines will be used on the new S-class first.

That gives them plenty of time to come out with a CLS 65 AMG in the meantime if they are really planning to hold on to the production of their new CLS 63 NA AMG until sometime in 2007.
Just for fun I will bet anyone in the forum a real nice bottle of wine that the CLS 63 will not use a Turbo nor Supercharger, instead it will be naturally aspirated. If Ted is about to win a nice bottle from Schiz, I don't see why I can't win one as well from someone who doesn't believe me!

That won't happen in a million years. Actually, I take that back... It might actually happen in a million years!

I have no doubt that the CLS will get the next generation 6.3 V8 at some point and I will take it with or without turbo's!
All in good fun!
