I noticed that Brabus offers the 7G-Tronic 7 Speed Automatic transmission on their CLS 6.1 S but does anyone knows if they offer the same transmission on their modified CLS 55 AMG?
In addition, why in the world would they be working on coming out with a modified CLS 350? Wouldn't it make sense to just buy the regular CLS 500 if you don't want to spend the extra cash to get a CLS 55 AMG?

Not sure, but I'm guessing their 6.1 conversion is based on the CLS500 which already has the 7G. The CLS55 does not. Besides, for performance purposes, I don't think 7G can reliably handle the torque of the 55 and is, in it's current state, not an ideal tranny for high performance...I think it's more a marketing angle, but innovative...otherwise we would have seen it on the AMG cars.

In the tuning world, you'd be surprised how many ppl dont opt to spend the money on the bigger motor, but end up spending more in mods. Also, in many places outside US, buying smaller displacement is MUCH cheaper for registration/insurance/fuel (3.5 vs 5.0), so they buy the small motor and mod the heck out of it
