2021 CLS53 starter battery keeps draining even after replacement
I've taken my car into my local Mercedes Benz dealer Service Center several times to get this addressed while still under warranty, and each time they assured me the battery is fine and the issue has been fixed. Now, my warranty is expired and car is in the shop again, and they're now telling me I need to get the battery replaced AGAIN because I didnt drive enough since it was replaced. I don't drive my car often, maybe 1000 miles/year, but that's ALWAYS been the case since I got it and never had this issue before, so I don't see how this can be the issue now WITH NEW BATTERIES. They're also saying they cannot cover the cost of replacing the battery since the warranty is now expired, which I've pushed back on, since they replaced my batteries only 8 months ago and if it's the battery that's the issue, then they gave me a bad battery and they should cover the cost.
My guess is the issue isn't the battery, but with whatever charges the battery, which I've asked them to check while the car is in the shop. My question is, why wouldn't they have checked the battery charging system the last few times the car was in, especially considering the batteries were recently replaced and only 4-5 months old at the time and shouldn't be draining so quickly? I told them that even if I replace the battery this time, who's to say I wont need to replace the battery again in 8 months and then another 8 months? This cannot be the ongoing solution going forward and there must be something else causing this drainage issue.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing this?
