Question Guys would you have bought a c32 with a salvage title $25k w/ 14k mls

Hey guys,
I just bought my c230 05 ss I love it. Obviously not the beasts that you guys have, but I at least look the same with a beautiful iterior. Anyways in my ventures to buy a car I came across a guy on autotrader selling his 02 c32 for 29k with 14k mls. I said what's wrong with it obviously. He said the car had been in a side impact accident and the B-pillar had to be replaced. But that the car was fine and Pictures looked amazing. So I went to see and drive the car and talk the price down. Mind you he told me car was in immaculate condition as a 14k mile MB should. Make a long story short and the car: PROS- car looked immaculate on outside at first glance, paint was beautiful- minor chips- side where car was hit- could not even tell. Whoever fixed that car did a hell of a job externally. Interior= CONS - Open the doors and shut them and you could tell not shut flush and smoothly, but functional. Door Carbon fiber was loose on one end, Minor stretch marks or crunch marks on sides of seats in front and back from impact. Door pins had no base on them on any door, air filter near rearview mirror missing, seat backrest although functional would not go all the way up to position(important for the wifey). No warranty-salvage equals void completely if related to accident problems. As for the Drive - amazing- smooth transmission, excellent handling, minor, minor, minor, (only dad noticed-he is very picky) steering vibration with no pull whatsoever and an engine that had no leaks and roared like the beast that it is. I was interested, but reluctant and got him to go down to 25k maybe 24k if I would have pushed him. So you know the outcome-
DID I MISS OUT or Made a smart move in getting my new baby benzo?

you can get a high(er) milage C32 on eBay for that, I'd be nervous of spending that much money on a car that's going to be very hard to sell (when the time comes).

I agree -that is why I brought my dad along to knock some sense into me and he told me the same thing. He said these cars will be just about that within the year. To sell that car would be ridiculously hard. I think the guy was upset though cause now he's stuck with it.

LolOLOLolol- I'm glad I got this point of view as well. Your mindset is like the side of me that wanted that car so bad that even with my new bad boy I'm still writing to you guys asking your opinion. Who buys a new car and thinks even for the slightest bit about one that could of should of could of would of.
Pretty bad huh. Anyway, My dad made me feel better saying that the guy kind of gave out a hint that he payed very little for this car and is probably in the business of fixing damged cars up and selling them at high prices when my dad told him---- you probably did not pay this high for this car right so you don't lose either way- and the guy smirked. I was too busy drooling to notice lol

What do you mean 15k that's too low. I mean more like 20- 25 k. And i still say there was something wrong with that car. Instincts told me not to do it.

Not true man, check out the prices on 02 c32 with about 30-40k on them. As a matter of fact autotrader has two right now under $30k 1 with that mileage the other is ripped. In a year these will be $25-30k easily. Believe me. Used car market is nutts right now. Great deals everywhere. that is why I did not buy. It's not worth it. Besides there will be newer ones out there by the time my lease is over. Who nows maybe in 39months I may just lease on of these guy's old C55. It's definitely possible.

Yes they hold on at 20, but at 20 most of us benz owners from the scrubiest student to the slr owner can afford it at that price. Guess what I saw the other day. A 99 e55 amg fully loaded two tone seats 55k miles for $24999 That is a 349 hp car. Remember this great car back in the day..... it was praised as second to non in its class behind BMW M5. Amazing. Now that is definitely affordable. Motor trend even did an article on this called Cheap HP check it out. 02 C32 was the featured car. Bargain for $35k-40k at the time

Oh and by the way don't even get me started on the c43 prices that are out there now. Amazing bargains for such a great car. Too bad it is just starting to look slightly dated. Eventhough I love that timeless clasic look.
