Any other phone work for telphone system?
Hey guys,
Recently purchased an '02 C32 AMG with all the goodies. Is there a way to make use of the hands free phone system with a phone other than the Motorola V60? I have a Nokia 6230 and would like to utilize the functionality within the car. Thanks.

I recently changed to a new phone from my old Nokia 6130i. What I did was copy my SIM onto a duplicate and put it in the nokia...now I simply leave the nokia in the cradle all the time.

I have the same issue. I have a Motorola Timeport for At&t/Cingular in my 02 C32. Customer Service at At&t/Cingular told me that they don't do new activations on TDMA phones in markets where GSM is offered. The only exception, I'm told, is if I wanted to do their prepaid service. Any existing TDMA customers can stay but when they need a new phone, they switch them to GSM.
I have a Razr V3 now but would love to somehow integrate it with the comand.
Steve (MBenzNL) has the Nokia 6310i (GSM) kit that will work. But thats all I know.

I just bought an '03 with phone integration, it was set up previously to use a v60 which I know I cant use through verizon as per NYC32's statement above... Verizon does have the newer motorola supported... is it possible I can use the new mot with my v60 kit? Please don't say I need to replace the entire thing just to go between mot handset versions. Would rather use my LG, but if I have to switch to the mot I could.

If you have Verizon, you might be okay.
I was talking about the TDMA phones that AT&T used before they moved to GSM (Cingular and Voicestream).
You may want to check it out. Even though I have a phone, I wanted to activate my old MB phone just to keep in the car. I personally like the old AT&T TDMA phones because of their coverage, especially when you're out in the middle of nowhere and GSM isn't available.

Jet - Unfortunately my lg and the v60 that came with the car are not gsm (no sim chip), any idea if it would be possible to clone my # onto the mbenz v60 phone and follow suit with what you did?
After talking to verizon they don't officially support 1 # on 2 handsets.. he pitched setting up the v60 as a separate line and then having my LG forward to it in the car but that just seems like overkill (and more $/mo).
