I got sucked up by a 350Z Turbo

I was driving on I95 North in Baltimore, when I was passed by a silver 350Z with some nice wheels. I'm thinking no big deal, I can catch him at any time. My friends(2) that are in the car tell to go get him. I shift to 3rd gear, and pull next to him doing around 60mph. He looks at me, then takes off. WOW!! The Z got a little jump on me, but once he shifted I could hear his blow-off valves from his TURBO. We ran up to 120mph, and he had me 20'.

Maybe off the line next time things would be a little different.

Maybe you should not race with all the dead weight.

You would have taken him without the passenger weight.

I know of a 350Z with Paxton Centrifugal. The thing is insane... only by 20 feet. Not bad at all...

I didn't know you were from the Balt area. We meet on every other Wed. night down in Rockville. Why don't you come out?

My guess would be it was twin turbo 350z, they have sick power, i know there's APS twin turbo for 350z and stock they run 12 flat and 400rwhp with 380-400 ft of trq, pretty sick for a small car like Z!!!

Hope in the face of defeat is all I can offer. How's about, wait for his engine to melt since those turbo and supercharger guys are using FMUs to tune A/F ratios in this day and age; technology poor, IMHO. The VQ35 in NA design does not like boost. The ratio of engines blowing from VQs being converted to FI is pretty darn high. It usually happens right around that power dip that is prevalent in all VQ35 power curves. Technosquare can't even get around it on NA motors. Makes the E46 M3 Deathstar motor issue pale in comparison. Having had an '03 Enthusiast with much S tune parts for about 3 months, the platform has a lot of promise. The engine is very mod friendly in NA form. I got mine under 5 seconds 0-60 via G-Tech with factory ECU settings. IMHO, it is worthwhile waiting for a new factory tuned version of the GT-R. Will it be an 8 or twin turboed for its near 400 HP? If they go 8, then we'll know that the factory couldn't get twin turbos to be reliable enough to warranty, just like the current aftermarket.

3250 is heavy? I would consider that lighter than most cars. Heck, the S2000 is around 2900lbs and nothing can touch that except for the Lotus Elise.
