that may be due to the fact that anything over a ratio of 10:1 normally requires premium fuel. If the computer is set for that grade fuel and timing is such that less oct can be problematic then you should use that grade fuel.

You also need to remember that a kompressor raises the actual compression ratio a great deal with boost. This is why kompressor cars and turbo cars are very prone to issue with low grade gas. Cars like hte ford lightning and the Saab Aero do not function well with 91 oct gas. They knock on a daily basis are really need 93 oct gas.
