M3Forum guys rent Atco for the day

Guys, this is not meant to start any form of flame war. I know there's been some doubt on this forum as to what M3's run stock. We had our fair share of debates with you-know-who always knocking down other people's achievements & always claiming people have hidden mods. Well if you read the thread you will see that ll the guys state their mods in their sigs.

http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=62582

They are all highly respected guys in the forum. Have timeslips, videos, etc. That same guy that ran 12.72 with a stock 6MT M3 was there with some mods now (engine still stock). His mods are intake, exhaust, racing seats, 4.10 diff. He ran 12.32 @ 112.8.

A bone stock SMG ran 13.05 @ 107.8. A 6MT should be at least 0.2 faster as one can pick the launch rpm & control the wheelspin with the clutch.

The slowest of the 10 M3's ran a best of 13.2 at 106.8 with a slipping clutch.

There have been a few other guys that have run 13.0 stock & some in the 12's as well. A guy in Bahrain ran 12.8 stock & posted it.

So I hope this clears up the confusion as I see some guys saying they've seen M3's run 14's. I'm sure they aren't lying. Just that on a good hooking track with a decent driver any M3 should run 13 dead at over 107.

Are you willing to change this to say "Just that on a good hooking track with a decent driver any M3 or C32 or C55 should run 13 dead at over 107."???

m3's can be fast in the hands of the right driver. and those m3s which ran seem to be driven well. much respect to those m3's. i find that they're slightly faster than c32's if they get a better launch, but the c32 pulls up top consistently. i think trap speeds are just about the same, with the m3 slightly faster off the line if launched well. i would like to see what a c32 would run there.

Vomit, absolutely! My argument has never been that just an M3 can do those times. A C32/55 should be able to do similar times.

Then I agree. . .your post is informative and not designed to incite a flame war.

Nice times, BTW

Ever since man first peeked at the member hanging off of the guy in the adjacent urinal, people have compared their "tools and toys" to those of the "next guy."

A little compare and contrast never hurt anybody!
