Renntech Springs

Don't know if you guys have blown this topic up before or not, but if that be the case i apologize in advance.

I wanted to know if anyone had just renntech springs added to their cars. How much does this lower your car and how is the ride and handling compared to its stock settings. Please advise.

Question On the same line

Is it required to change the shocks to avoid getting a "boucy-reboundy? Car?
Thanks!

Renn tech spring owners, I have looked at several images of people that have installed the renntech springs. It looks like the tail sits a little bit higher then the front. How is the overall handling and comfort level so far compared to your stock settings? What did you purchase from renntech to complete your mod.

Any regrets about getting them?

Cars and boats!
if u want the rear lower then get the 9mm spring pads for the rear in combo with the RENNTech springs. The springs r rated for the OEM AMG/bilstein shock rate so no change of shock is required. I am overall very satsified with mine. Ride quality is not lost, handling is improved, no more understeer, and more aggressive stance!!

So, this is the cheapest way to lower our cars without buying the shocks, right?

Canyou post the part number for the Renntech springs and the pad numbers (front and rear) for our information / reference, thanks.

Just get Vogtlands. IMHO, they are better matched to the shocks than the Renntechs. Had Renntechs on my other C32. They are less than half the price of Renntechs. They have been making springs in Germany for 90 years. Good to have options.

Vogtland Springs

Ardy, I think all of these are based on the assumption that you're driving solo, or at least no passengers in the back, otherwise you might have rubbing issues, also depends on the wheels.

AMGod, you seriously going to compare Renntech springz with Vogtland springz? Vogtlands are a cheaper alternative but Renntech is the way to go in terms of looks and performance....

If you are thinking of changing the springs only, IMO, Renntech springs are best matched with the AMG shocks.

Looks perfect man, thats exactly what I want my car to look like. And those rims, damn those are hot. How much those run you? I might have to get me some of those . I just got a bunch of parts in wing, roof wing, expression grille, and now I have to go europe for a month. Its torture.

WHen I get back I will get the renntech springs and 9mm pads as you suggested. Thanks for the pics, it broke the camels back

Any rubbing issues if you have 2 adults sitting at the back?

I've had both and prefer fronts with Vogtlands with stock springs on back with an H&R rear bar set on stiff. The Vogtlands match the valving of the stock shocks better than the Renntechs, IMO. My other C32 had Renntechs with 25K miles on it. My current C32 has 18K miles on it. The driver aids kick in much less with the current set up. Price for parts is irrelevant regarding my personal selection criteria. Performance is everything.

Is camber kit "must have" when you install the Renntech springs only?

its not a must have unless you do a lot of drag racing like i do and like minimal camber!!! A little camber is good for handling but the camber kit will allow me to correct any negative camber when i go to the drag strip. Any lowering spring or coilover setup will give you camber!!!

I see, thanks. All I want is just lowering the car a little bit in order to make less gaps on the front fender gaps. I believe I would lower my car as you did, using renntech springs and 9mm pads. This is the cheapest way to modify my car instead of buying shocks and springs together.

Buy the Renntechs. BTW, Bilstein does not make the stock struts/shocks. For comparison, what is the spring rate for the Vogtlands?

Do you just go to the dealership and ask them for the spring pad?? Or is the person on the otherside of the counter going to look at me strange and they what are you talking about.

Thumbs up Well

I just had mine installed and I like it a lot. I can't say about Renntechs but the Vogtlands that I got from Purems didn't change much the ride quality and lowered my front end 1.6 Inches. I'll post pictures soon.
