Quote: Anyway, RENNTech is expensive, but I think Brabus and Kleemen are a tad higher in terms of pricing, especially things like 10k for brakes. Don't get me wrong, they are great MB tuners, but just overpriced, I believe you can get a better bang for your buck with RENNtech.
10k for brakes? Sorry you lost me there. Can you give me a link to where you saw this? Also this 10k is this kleemann or brabus? When you say "overpriced" are you comparing apples to apples?

thanks

The Kleemann's braking performance was better than the stocker's as well, halting the 55S8 from 70 to 0 mph in just 160 feet, compared with 165 for the factory C55. Kudos to Kleemann's 370 brake kit ($9800), which includes bigger calipers (six-piston front, four-piston rear) and fully floating, cross-drilled rotors.
Apples to Apples, some what, I know this is a Benz and you guys are Benz lovers, as I am also, but 99k, you could get a used Turbo with some mods that would be faster for the same amount. But, you would loose the backseat.

Definetly a nice car, the main thing I was getting at here where the comparison to supercars, which never really took place on the thread (that what 2:30am and quick skimming thru the thread does).

And you'd lose the soul. Every Porsche looks the same, from the Boxster, to the Cayman to the Cayanne. Lazy *** designers

But the same can be said to the new upcoming Mercedes models as well

The brake kit from RENNtech is something as follows.

14” kit - front $4995
13" Kit - Rear $2995

That's 7990$, some $1550 lower than the Kleemann.
Brabus is $10560 @ 14" front and 12" rear.

Personally I think from the information I've seen, all of them are pretty ****ty because they don't appear to be balanced nor do they seem focused on reducing weight as none of them advertise that to be a strong point.

Quote: Sick, but the Kleemen is not worth it IMO, way overpriced same as Brabus, I would go with RENNtech and be just as happy, if not happier. I think you people are comparing it to the wrong cars, the DB9 and 612 would not be competiton for the C55 even if it did 0-60 in .0000003 of a second with 0 wheel spin, the cars are in a different league. The Murcielago when properly driven and launched extremly hard will do the 1/4 in about 11.5-11.6 1/2. I think the C55 when supercharged is great, but you cannot be comparing it to super cars and other highline entry level exotic cars, just because performance is equal.

<-- Wants a RENNtech Black/Black C55 with Nav, Bi-xenons, Monolights, RENNtech brake package, Headers, Exaust, Rear badge and 30% Tints all around.
You have a valid point. But I am not comapring my car to a super car. It's obvious that the 612, DB9, and Murc are in a super car league, BUT IT SURE IS NICE TO BE ABLE TO BEAT THEM!
for a fraction of the price!!!

Bring the Murc next to me :v

Quote: Wow! I'm anxious for ya DragonAMG! If you don't mind me asking, is it a significant amount for your car to be taken to Colorado for tuning? Or is this part of their package?

Bennyz:
When you take your car to the track, please try to have someone video it! I'd love to see it in action. Of course, a race between you and Dragon would be great to see too!

Nick
will do!

Then my price lists are wrong. Do you know where I can get a new set of PDF's?

I wish I had news, actually shipment was delayed and the car is slated to be pickup up tomorrow arriving in Colorado mid-week.

Good news is that I will still have in back in time to race my father-in-law (he's driving it down in late August). He just bought an SLK 55 and he's been bragging since the day he bought it about how much faster it is than my C55. I'm thinking I'll toy with him the first run and then total annihilate him on the second run, what do ya think?

I think you better have this run with the SLK55 on video! Or else... :p Tape it so we can see how much faster the S7 is over the stock 55! :p

I'm getting the feeling you guys are almost as anxious and excited as I am...

The car is now in Colorado at Kleemann USA and they begin work on the car tomorrow. It looks like I might even have it back by late next week (let's all keep our fingers crossed). I will definitely post pictures and dynos right away, with 1/4 slips and videos to follow.

This isn't much, but here are some pictures of it leaving on Monday. LOL

Good choice using Intercity Used them when I shipped my car to NY to get my work done by AI Design. Great company and they are also the official movers of the Carrera GT in US.
