C32 AMG
the only reason i can think of is that your car is VERY HEAVY!
very heavy chrome 19inch wheels. Custom system in trunk. they weigh down your car alot! plus, the SLK350 is no slouch 0-60. im sure you would have won on the freeway though. even with all those mods weighing down your car.

re-read your edit. answer = your car's too heavy rolling on from the looks of it to be very heavy wheels. they will slow the car down plus you have all that system to drag around.
edit: from what i read in the other thread, your exhaust probably lose power instead of gaining power.
on the top side, the new SLK350 is not slow. They run around in the 5.4-5.5 sec range.

A few months ago we took the C32 and a rental SLK350 to the big track at willow (local so-cal road course) and on the drive to the track at 6 am (on a sunday -- no traffic) we had a chance to compare the power and performance of the two cars. The C32 and the SLK were door to doo up to about 100 where the SLK started to fall off a bit. In one test the SLK surged off to a quick lead do to the very short gearing in its 7 speed auto-box.
Around the track the SLK was about 3-5 seconds slower but the C32 had a full racing brake kit, upgraded coilovers and r-comp dot legal race tires. Given these figures that stock SLK350 is a QUICK little car.

'12 C204 C250, '05 SLK350 (sold)
I was running a stock SLK350 and now with rims. Believe me, a C32 will smoke a SLK350. That is, unless the C32 had 150+ lbs of unsprung weight and 300 extra lbs of sprung weight. My 268hp is no match for the 349hp of the C32. I definitely don't mess with anything that has an AMG engine.
