Ok. So I am on my way to the local Electronics mega store in my new '05 C55, with 400 miles on it,and I notice a brand new vette pull out onto the road aggressively. I pull up to the light next to him even though this is my turn. He was in the right lane, I was in the left lane. I look over at him but he does not look at me. I turn off the AC, put it into M and wait for the green light. Nothing but open 2 lane straight road ahead of us.

Light turns green and I accelerate aggressively but do not floor it. He doesn’t take the bait. I look back and he is pretty far back. He must of taken it real slow off the line. I never got above 50 none the less. We are in a 45 mph zone. As I look up from checking how far back he is I see Johnny law coming in the other direction. Thank god he did not take the bait or we would have been deservedly busted.

So I change lanes in front of him because I need to make a right turn. I notice another red light up ahead. As I am about to get into the turning lane something funny happens, he changed lanes to line up next to me. So I stayed in the right lane, not the turning lane.

At the light I look over at him again. This time he returns my look. I also notice that his wife is in te car.

When the light turns green I hit it hard but not full throttle. I wanted to see if he was coming too. He was. I push the accelerator through the floor.

1st gear his nose is at my drivers side rear door....5900 rpm I hit the shift button. I guess I wasn’t fast enough with the shift because the engine died a little and the nose dropped hard. At this point his nose is at my front wheel. Then BAM 2nd gear and I am pulling again. His nose is back at my rear drivers side door and smoothly sliding back.

At this point I am pulling on him and I shut it down as we are approaching traffic. I don’t know if it was because he didn’t know how to drive or the extra weight from his wife or what but man that was FUN!!! I also don't know if he had a manual or auto. I am pretty sure that it was a manual as I saw his nose dip when he shifted.

We both made a right hand turn on to a one lane road so we never got next to each other again. I took the next exit for a 4 lane in each direction road but he did not follow.

Funny thing is on the way to the sports store earlier with my friend he said " This is fast but this won't take a new vette will it?" I said I don't know. I said I know I won't take the z06 but the regular one maybe." I called him after the race and told him no need to wonder anymore.

So that is my first kill.

Was it a the new bodystyle? Because if it was im pretty sure he shoulda beat you.

How did you know it was his wife? It could have been his girlfriend, mistress, or even sister...

It was the new bodystyle. It had the exposed head lights. Like I said maybe he did not know how to drive, weight from 2nd passenger or he was just f**** with me. When we shut down I was in front. I am not saying in anway that the C55 is faster. On this run I was in front.

'05 C55 is 4.9 with a really good driver.

He was probably driving a manual tranny C6 and had no idea on how to shift. A friend of mine took me for a spin in his Boxter S. I asked him to show me what that thing could do. Anyways when the light turned green he floored it and was shifting to 2nd and 3rd at 4K Revs..
