Greenfilters kill K&N's.

Maybe my butt dyno is off, but it appears there is a detectable difference in the two. So much so, that I threw the K&N's away after one banzai run. Acceleration is markedly quicker than my old dirt clogged paper AMG filters. Now for stealth exhaust tweaking.

So no filters must be faster than GreenFilters

No dyno, but throttle response was markedly improved.

I got mine from some online truck accessory place. Heard evosport has them, but I couldn't find it listed on their website.

Wish I called. These other guys raped me on the price. Evosport is about $20 cheaper per filter.

I think it is more in the neighborhood of 5-10hp. If it were only 1-2hp I doubt you would feel any difference.

Yup, especially in a car that weighs over 3500 lbs. The throttle response is the most marked improvement.

Does anyone have real numbers? I am very skeptical of any one's feeling - especially after they just spent a bunch of money.

What I am saying is that the only thing that matters is the dyno. All other data is not accurate, in my opinion.

For what it's worth, I have real numbers for K&N filters (no other mods). The dyno runs were performed the same day, about an hour or so apart.

Pre-K&N HP: 297.6
Post-K&N HP: 298.2

Pre-K&N Torque: 292.9
Post-K&N Torque: 296.0

Note that my original filters only had 1000 miles on them at the time. Had they been "old dirt clogged" like the original poster perhaps there would have been a bigger difference (with the Pre-K&N number being lower).

You can't just make a mod to these cars and make one run up the street or one dyno run and get any indication of whether it made a difference or not. It takes many runs and miles for the computer to learn the mod. I doubt there is much difference between the K&N and the GeenFilter sincee the GreenFilter is just a copycat of the K&N with green instead of red cotton gauze.

Someone here posted about a blowdryer and floating ping pong ball test that was performed back to back with a greenie. Apparently, the green filter allowed the ping pong ball to be pinned to the top of the chamber. A crude flowbench, but none the less convincing. That coupled with Renntech's adopting of them is what made me dump the K&Ns for Green. The seat of the pants just confirmed, albeit subjectively, what was already posted. Could be placebo effect, but I didn't subconsciously feel the need to get my money's worth. I'll see if I can find the ping pong ball post.

you know htat test with teh K&N filter and the ping pong ball/fan disply.... with that test, you put the paper filter and the ping pong ball is on teh bottom of the tube, with the K&N the ball starts to float up and stays suspended floating, I put the Greenfilter and that pingpong ball shot str8 up and stayed on top of the tube!!! They are proven to be better then K&N!!

hey sean.... ur missing that SL55 Y-splitter dude!!!

I'm definitely looking into this Green Filter now, I was looking into getting a K&N soon. Does anyone know if they make them for W124's?

haters crazy
They have a website, check it out www.greenfilterusa.com I just ordered a set. I'm going from ITG filters to Green. I also have a renntech airbox. The people I bought mine from said they have 15% better airflow than K&N, but remember the source is a green dealer.

what about filtering efficiency? I hear stories about how K&N allows more materials to be passed through to the engine.
