03-c32 vs. 03- M3

I should have done this long ago. My brother and I decided to have a little test finally. I in the Merc and he in the M3. Did 6 tests. stop start and then rolling starts at verying speeds. The verdict, it is a drivers race, the cars are so equally matched. Off the start the M3 kicks faster. I don't know if it is because of the super charger delay on the merc. But we never pulled on each other. I would just look at him front door to door. When he shifted the smg trans, it the only varation in speed. The amg has a much smoother trany. I am up in the air on this. It was to close to tell. No mods all stock both cars. my merc has upgraded 19's on it which makes me a bit slower than the stock 17 inch wheels.

How about some impact testing? I would really like to know which vehicle is safer in, say, a 30 MPH head-on collision

Thanks for the info. It sounds like, with stock wheels (assuming that your 19s are heavier than the 25-6 lb. stockers) you would have slooooowly pulled on the M3. You are absolutely correct that the M3/C32 race is a toss-up.

NO pull, no bull

up to 90 mph, no pull. If we can get on the freeway some where without high CHP volume. we will go all out. Yes my wheels are heavier than the stock. Also diameter can play a part, but even still, i wouldn't be that much faster.
