There is not a regular price being that they or any other company that I'm aware of doesn't offer a cross-drilled OEM replacement rotor. This is a onetime thing, especially for us.

Scovit - I notice that you have a BMW X5 3.0. How do you like it? What year? I just bought my wife an 03 X5 4.4i... we love it! We sold our paid off Lincoln Aviator and now we have car payments... that part I don't like so much... HAHA.

Josh: I have an 05 X3. My wife drives it. She loves it! Especially the heated steering wheel! Cold hands-warm heart!

BMW X's don't feel like SUV's although the X3 ride is a little busy. Easy car to maintain......Popped in a Green Filter, Super Easy Oil Change, etc. The 3.0 liter 6 cyl is super easy to work on a time-tested powerplant and....All service included!

Merc & BMW's are top notch. The X3 is assembled in Austria, Gov. Termonators home, and the X3 is put together as well as it can be.

Here's my subjective rating on the X3

Drivetrain= A
Brakes= A
Steering= A
Interior Confort= A
Gas Mileage City 16.5= C-
Gas Mieage Highway 21= C+
Convenience= A
Interior Quality= A-
Exterior Quality= A-
Acceleration= B+
Overall Ride= B
Reliability= A-
Sound Insulation-Aerodynamics= A-

Opinion: I'd recommend it, just wish the mpg was about 5 mph higher city and highway.

Just a thought - there is another post that is describing W209 2005 AMG calipers and drilled rotors fitting W203s as a direct bolt-on. I'm trying to verify it just to make sure - but why not just go this route if it really is a direct fit?

You also have to also consider the cost. What I did was at least 5x more expensive than this modification. I say at least, because a friend works at this shop and I was able to get a significant discount.

And it is a direct bolt-on. All these guys do is mercedes and the guy who did mine has 20 years experience. If you have any questions, I posted his personal e-mail in the other thread.

In addition to the cost, I would think that upgrading only the rears to the CLK55 amg brakes the rears would be to powerful and throw off the balance. Thoughts?

I too had that concern, but the MB tech assured me it was not an issue. Not sure if that is due to the how the electronics or the hydraulics work - I will ask for more detail. But I had a chance to prove that out to some extent last night around 3am. I couldn't sleep and went out for a run. Hard braking from high speeds (>145) approaching curves was smooth and seamless. Overall, the car felt even more stable than when I've made that run in the past - I'm sure the new RennTech springs also play a role there.

thats my biggest concern on these larger rear brakes as well, I would think the fronts would need to be upgraded to the 6 pot calipers in order to maintain the "proper" balance.

but then once that's all done, does the master cylinder need to be upgraded? Are they even different?

hoping to have them sittin on my front door step when I get home from work today. Keep your fingers crossed. They were shipping via Bax Global (on a palet) and I don't know their policies about leaving items without signature confirmation

Okay... the rotors have arrived. ****ty part in they were shipped in one big box. I have to go and buy boxes, so that I can ship them to everyone (added expense to me ). Hopefully I'll be able to get them all out tomorrow. I will keep everyone updated.

Because we didn't go with the cromate dipped ones (they would have been a different color than the front / like a gold color), they were sprayed with a coat of primer for shipping. Kleemann told me that this is standard and will wear off almost immediately. Here are some pictures of the box that is now sitting in my garage.

Good thing is they are finally here and the drill patterns match the front --going the same direction on both sides!!! This was a huge hassle/headache for me ... I'm glad it's almost finally over.

Thanks for the picture. Hey, sorry it was a problem. Pretty crappy way for them to ship those to you.

One would think that they would treat them with better packing.

Wow...they're just all thrown in together. I can't believe they would ship them like that with no protection.

I thought the same thing... but then I thought about them being shipped on a palet and not really moving around a lot like a box would. Plus, there aren't any chips in any of them... so i guess it's okay. I'm boxing them right now and will drop them off either tonight or tomorrow. I'm going to ship them FEDEX ground which is usually pretty fast. Everyone should receive them by next friday if not sooner.
