Had mine installed today. 2 quick questions---I noticed a steel black circular pan behind the rotor? Was that originally there, or did my mechanic put it there? I noticed it slightly bent on the rim from damage.
Secondly, the actual rotor has worn off the primer, however the face of the rotor is not at all smooth LOOKING (to the touch it is fine). It has a major cross-hatching look to it. Looks like some one took a knife and scratched the rotors in all sorts of directions. Is this the contact of the caliper curing with the rotor?
Is this all normal???
