Will w203 shift knob fit on w209?

Will w203 shift knob fit on w209?
I am trying to change my shift knob and came across several w203 shift knobs for sale. I am wondering if they will fit in my w209 clk. Also, the shift knob will have to come with the leather boot right (the one that is attached to the shift knob like a skirt)? Thanks!

Like everything Benz, it depends on the year of the car, and the year of the shift knob. With the 203, before model year 05, they all should be interchangable, as far as the knob on the shift lever. However, it depends on which transmission the knob came from. The boot on a manual is different than the boot on a auto - so that is an issue.
The manual knob from an 05 won't work on anything before 05, but the automatics will.
