Anyone else notice their passenger seat rattling?

A new CLS55 owner mentions that his passenger seat "rattles like hell" (when unoccupied)... I noticed the exact same thing in my C55...

my driver's side seat used to squeak and move left to right a little. The moving problem is fixed by the dealer but I still hear squeaking sound. They had to order something for replacement inside of the seat.

Mine vibrated. Fixed under warranty (tightened mounts, or something like that)

I see ...... Is Mercedes neglecting to tighten the "mounts" in a measure to cut costs?

11 months ago I told everybody here that the C55 suspension is harsh, no one thought this is a major issue. I guess all AMGs are bounded to get some interior rattling problems, one way or another. I have spotted four areas of rattling ; the ****pit driver side is less accceptable and the dealer did not fix it properly in last service. I also discovered:
- one of the xenon lamp occasonally on and off
- the alignment of the front bumper looks dislocated about 10mm.

I used to hear a suttle rattle on the driver side of my 230k and realized it was the plastic overhang that was loose on the left side of the base of the seat, it would come loose often and all I would have to do is push it back in place. Occasionally i would hear a similar rattle on the passenger side but couldnt find the source, the noise seems to appear randomly so i dont think its anything mechanical but with MB ya never know.

my pasenger head rest rattles a little when there is no one sitting on it. I'm going to take it apart maybe next time I wash my car.

My seat rattled at exactly 63 MPH, only with pressure on gas pedal when I lifted the seat stopped rattling....at first I thought it was a rear end/rim balance issue turned out the seat bracket was loose. It was fixed under warranty, sounds like an epidemic almost.....

Quite a bit of movement in the seat, that's all.

Mine rattled. The dealer tightened it up, and it went away.

I have a new ML and notice the passanger seat vibrating visibly wobbling but it doesn't make a sound. I didn't think to mention it to the dealer. Think I should or is this normal???

Nothing here.

Just like my old ML, everything is rock solid. Only thing that was rattling was a loose pen hitting a couple cds when I drove in the glove box. But then I found the pen holder, everything solved.

There is a rubber bushing that sometimes falls out of the lower section of the seat onto the rear floor. Mine was replaced twice. I believe it works with the lower seat springs. This solved my noisy seat issue some time back. Ever notice how much travel there is in the stock seat. Just press the rear portion of the seat with your hands and it moves several inches. This is the secondary suspension component of the W203. lol.

MY driver seat seems to sway left to right a small fraction that drives me nuts especially on a winding road. Turn right -- you feel the seat shift left a 1/16" or so, opposite when I turn left....its anoying as hell. Dealer fixed a squeak I had in the seat but tells me the movement it normal over time???yeah right...

Any quick fix you boys know of or TSB's on the seat movement that I am not aware of?????????????

It's the seat springs! Buy a Recaro Sport Topline street seat like I did in black leather/alcantera and you will be greatful you did. It takes all the play out of the seat and you don't "bounce" around all day. The seat is sprung on both sides in the rear. Look at it from the rear footwell area. As you corner, one side compresses more than the other. This is probably what you are feeling.

Steve, the Recaro Sport Topline is great. The pedals are great as well. The dead pedal makes the seating position alot better. Install went well and no SRS issues whatsoever. I'll contact you via PM.
