An S63 bi-turbo would be a nice car as well.
All a guessing game at this point until we know the real future plans.

With the way fuel prices are going makes me think of the energy crisis of the 70s.. 80hp Mustangs were a product of that, which scares me...

WOW, we got some regular Einsteins on here. Was there a 5.5 supercharged engine in the C-class? Then why do you expect the 500hp 6.3 V8 to find its way in? Nice to dream but get real man. Anyway C55 has what 365hp? You expect a 500hp engine for the same price? Nice one.

I thought they were just bumping the power in the C55 to 400HP to compete wuth the new M3 when it hits the streets? Also I agree why would they put a 500HP engine in a C class. One would assume that the 55 engine will get an HP bump and remain the power plant in the CLK and C class AMG cars. Then the 63 will replace the 55K's! Just an opinion. 500HP in a C sounds like an awefull lot and would kill the E55 sales since they would have the same engine and have an almost $15K diference in price.

I'm totally with M&M on this one. The M5 has over 500HP. It makes sense that MB comes out with the naturally aspirated E63/CLS63 in the future to compete. If a twin turbo version of the 6.2L V8 comes out, it will be a large premium over the current superacharged 55 series cars (just like there is the SL65/55, CL65/55, and S55/65 currently).
People also forget the rumours that the next C-AMG may retain a 5.5 L V8 which is retuned to >400HP. Putting out >=400 HP makes sense, as we all know the upcoming M3 will be a V8 making >400HP. It just doesn't make sense for the C to get the 6.2L V8 making >500HP without a massive increase in price.

AMG's phasing out the current 5.4 liter V8 in favorite of the 6.2 in the future. 6.2 not possible in the C-class? is that like how people doubted AMG will never put the 5.4 V8 in the w203 until they did?

I'm just saying that the car mags suggest a 5.5 L V8 tuned to >400HP for the future C AMG. You do know that the upcoming S500 (or S550) will come with a brand new multivalve 5.5 L V8 making 388HP. Maybe AMG will tweak that engine to make >400HP.
We're all speculating here, based on what car mags and internet reports we have read. Sure, maybe the 6.2 L V8 with >500HP will make it into the next C-AMG in the future, but I really think you're kidding yourself if you think it won't cost a huge premium above the current C55.

Just be careful, you are the same guy who was ready to ditch your car after one electrical problem in 11 months. If you think that's bad, go get yourself a brand new model SMG..... you will sell that car within 2 weeks.

1. Black is my color. I accepted Brilliant silver with good reasons being never owned a silver car and MB cars look great in silver; and at time, the dealer could only offer a silver in that fastest 6 weeks shipment - a critical buying decision to make or would never be here. And, C55 in HK is king and honoured to use flashy color like M3's wasabi yellow even my next sports car will likely be a white.
2. yes, to be owner of M3 shares same status symbol as C AMG
3. Any cars deserve to be ditched with poor reliability. Once had a E36 325i and everybody said BMW cars has lot of eletrical problems - these did not happen to my 325i. It is about luck ( "fung shui" ) you see what I mean. At least, E90 RHD is still likely to be made in Germany, but not W203/4 RHD. ( This adds my 11th reason not to stay with W204 ). Thanks for remembering my W203 issues - so far so good touch wood. :p

The battle of M3 and C55 is only the beginning. 2007 is world of M4 and CLE.

Actually I am dropping a check for a 325/330 4-door. The 330 coupe and cab will launch in 2006 ; not sure if M3 will launch at the same time.
It's time to go for something simple (such as M3) people can recognize.
AMG is too 'high end' you wont' find more than 10 even in big countries Thailand...Malaysia ...who cares the AMG logo - long as the car has a star - you are king. :p
