please people, do not J walk...

Hey guys, such a horrific day today for me...was drivin back home from skool goin northbound on Yonge street and hit 2 pedestrians...thing was i was at a full stop and the light turn green, so i went, but then these two dimwits runs across the street from the left, where a transport van was obstructing my view, jumps right in front of my car...bam, next thing you know i see one a girls face on my windshield so i braked...luckily they had some road burns and bruises, nothing serious...cops took down all my and the pedestrian's info, but that was it...for me though, it was big, such scary experience, and my poor c32's hood is scratched up and dented...now its misaligned and doesn't close properly...sigh...and just so happens, unlucky me, NO WITNESSES all of them left without leaving a number! DAM!!! but i have the pedestrians numbers and we somewhat had a mutual agreement that they will pay at least half of what the repair cost is...

anyways dats my story and please fellow members...DO NOT J WALK...

Oh man, I know how you feel. I hit a little 4 or 5 year old boy back in the '80s. I was coming out of my neighborhood, doing just 15 or 20. He ran out from between 2 cars on my left, and when he saw me, he froze. I jammed the brakes, but had nowhere to go because of parked cars. I nailed him, tossed him about 6 or 8 feet, and one of his shoes flew off. Thank God he wasn't seriously hurt, but I felt like crap for days. I was also very lucky to have a county animal control officer behind me. She told the responding police that if she'd been in front of me, she would have hit him. I hope everything works out as well for you.

you were very lucky
Back 2 yrs ago, the same thing almost happened to me and this grandmother walked out from behind a bus trying to cross two lanes, while I was driving my Z3 with opened top speeding downhill; I did the hardest braking I ever done in my life and I still remember her shocking face staring right to my eyes. If that Z3 did not stop, she would be smashed like a potato.
I think we should all pay extra attention when there were buses stopped at our opposite side lane.

That reminds me of what happened to me about 6 years ago. I had just finished a session of shooting at the local gun range. I pulled out of the lot and proceeded to make a right turn onto a major street. As I was making the right turn (already past the stop sign, no crosswalk) some teenaged kid proceeded to walk right out in front of me and I hit him at maybe 5 mph. We exchanged info, he wasn't hurt, but a dumb-a$$ nontheless. Of course he knew I had just come out the gun range, so he didn't have much to say anyways......Keep in mind pedestrians always have the ROW in Kalifornia no matter how retarded they may be.

Glad that no one got seriously injured. Luckily, you had the police take down the truth of what actually happened. Post pixs of the damage of your car. mutual agreement to pay half of the cost? Hopefully, that doesn't change being a verbal agreement. Is your automobile insurance involved in this incident?

In all seriousnes....you had best contact a lawyer and fast. Soon as they are able, they are gonna be on the phone with a "if you been injured and want some $$$$" attorney.

Don't even wanna hear "they were in the wrong" ........in this sick society, it means nothing.

I'm telling ya, there coming for ya, ESPECIALLY with a Benz....

Be ready!!

So sorry you are gonna have to go through this.

In Australia if you tell the police you the offender to pay half they will invariably assume it was all your own fault.
