Located in the front SAM control module (fuse box next to the ECU), it's the large grey relay in the rear of the fuse box.
This problem sucks. Check engin light is on.

This is the relay, not controller module, right?
Do you know if I need to change this relay as well when changing the air pump?

Silver 2002 C32, Silver 2006 CLK 350
when I replaced the airpump I also replaced the relay. I replaced the relay first then the airpump. relay is about $15, if the motor got hot the conact on the relay might be pitted also. just replaced it. is your car out of warranty? they cover smog parts up to 8 years or 80000 miles. I will return my old smog pump cuz it went out when it was still on warranty.
