C32 vs Silverado +Supercharger quick run

C32 vs Silverado +Supercharger quick run
i'm still thinking about this race, since the guy was a total "red neck" jerk.
(i hope I don't offen anybody, not my intention)
I was in Irvine turning left on a (two lane left turn to Red hill). Black Chevy Silverado with some dorky wheels single cab pulls up next to me. He is turning left as well.
I don't gun it at all and he does, since I didn't know he was up to something. After we make the left and he is about 3 cars ahead... (me not knowing he was gunning it) until I put pressure on the pedal with small results.. At this point he is full ON and I'm finally in the game.
It took a strong pull on my car to catch up and edge him by a nose since we needed to stop at the red light.
He got atleast 3 car lengths and was fully on it, and I still reeled him and stopped way ahead of him on the light. To me I felt cheated but for him it probably was a victory for the ole' chevy.
we pull up and I roll down the windor... HE would NOT line up to talk and stayed back. 40's white guy with gray hair and a heavy South accent.
Me: "nice run"
Me: " you have a supercharger huh?"
redneck: yeahh and it's about 1/5 the price of yo car"
me: "really.... I bought mine used.. .so I paid as much as your truck"
redneck: "well... who cares..."
me: "let's do it again, from a stop and no more head start?"
no reply
we line up and we have a GREEN: does not pull and doesn't want to go at it.
What a total jerk!
By the way: I was once behind a Silverado SS with a Supercharger. The guy kills me off the line, since I was behind him. He had no muffler and probably no CATS, cuz it was loud. He put 3 to 4 cars on me from 0 to 80 and about 100 i made the difference to about 1 car and gaining fast. It we would of hit 120 and he was mine. Moral to the story, I was behind and was able to stay with him, but his take off was amazing! Torque and AWD on those trucks is simply hard to beat off the line, but after 80 our cars really outshine...
The guy with the SS was cool... we talked and and gave him thumbs up. Unlike "mr redneck" of yesterday.
I can see him now...raving to his friend that his truck beat an AMG!! LOL!
