Knocking noise when accelerating from rest?

Hi All,

Hoping someone can help me here. My C32 has just developed a severe knocking noise from the right rear wheel area. The noise occurs when accelerating from rest. I can also duplicate the noise by brake stalling and suddenly applying the accelerator pedal.

The noise started faintly tonight whilst driving in the rain and got louder by the time I got home.

I searched the entire forum but could not find anyone else mentioning this problem. Has anyone experienced this problem? Any idea what I should look for?

Thank you,

Joe

Possibly a broken shock mount. Push on the tunk and see if you can reproduce it. And definitely get car on the lift for inspection.

Thanks Vadim,

I will try to have look tomorrow. Is the shock mount bolted on or welded? Eek, I hope it is not a major repair.

There is no noise on undulating surfaces or normal take off. Only on hard acceleration from rest.
