Cars and boats!
Ive been living under a rock...

I was talking to my friend today when he told me that his buddy who used to have a Twin Turbo G35 crashed it and got a 2006 C230 sedan. I am here thinking, yea its real slow, only 4cylinders and all 1.8L of gas saving fury. So then he tells me, "no, its got a V6", and I disagree. Bottom line, we ended up debating about it for 10 minutes so he calls his friend up. When his friend pulled in with the 06 C230 and popped the hood... low and behold, it was a DOHC V6.. it looked just like the motor from the SLK350. I guess they took the motor from teh SLK280 (2.5L DOHC V6) and put it in the C class... best of all, it was stickshift !!! Yea, I was a looser tonight.. oh well!!! Great idea on MBs part though... kudos!!!

What makes things even more confusing is they have both the C230 (2.5L) and the C280 (3.0L)...not sure exactly why they use different motors since the hp difference is like 20 ponies....

omg c230, c280, and c350.....all v6s..... 200hp 218 hp and 268 hp i think they should knock out that middle one, i would rather have the 230 with its standard sport pkg and give up the 20 hp.... if i wanted more the 350 sport would be the choice

having driven both, the 230 and 280, i gotta say that the difference is huge. the 280 feels much faster and much more torqey.

Probably because of the ****ty interior of the G35. Unbelievably cheap.

C55 AMG, 135i, 911 GT3, GLE43 AMG
C230 = 2.5L V6
C280 = 3.0L V6
C350 = 3.5L V6
C55 = 5.4L V8

Other than the C350, the numbers don't match the engine's displacement.

Actually.....

The C200K ( some countries called C180K ) 1.8 litre Kompressor engine will remain for low-end MB car models.

The C230K (~192hp) is replaced by C230 V6 new 200hp DOHC engine.

The 280's are using the new DOHC 3 litre V6 engine which is a model line replacing the 240's.

The 320's are replaced by 350's.

55 remains.

I am aware many people in USA are not too follow up with low end engines, however , these engines ( 180,200,230,240 ) represent 90%+ MB cars in Asia and many other countries Cars with 3+ litre is highly luxury here.
