H&R springs...questions...
I think I'm going to stick with RennTech Springs. Thanks Sander for the info.

total cost with alignment will be around $589+ tax
I know I could do better, but I rather not take it to a place that is unknown and far away.
I have the option of going with Brabus as well for the same price.
To me Brabus and RennTech are about equal in quality. is that fair to say?

I paid $520 with tax & installed... by a great shop in So Cal. 2 hours later I was out the door. The Wheel Co. in Walnut (Ask for Sander). By the way, this price was due to the fact he had a set of Renntech c32 springs avaible and wanted to let them go. I'm pretty sure he can match similar prices for other members.
I don't want to mention any names, but somebody we all trust quoted me 6 hours of labor to install springs. That was close to $600 in labor not including the springs. Please do your search before you pay somebody $1000 for springs. Thanks to members on this board, I was able to find a better deal and better springs.
I will align after a weeks, when the springs settle.
and verdict:
great springs, the front is perfect and the ride is about the same. Better control of the car and less understeer. I have 18's and the ride is really good.
My wife drove the car today and she did not notice the springs.
In the last 2 weeks, I have added the EVosport pulley kit and the springs. I'll need to wait anothe few more weeks for the Powerchip ECU flash. Hopefully by then I will call my project complete, until I buy an E55 at the end of the year.
for now, this will keep me pretty happy.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Now I'll have to find a place in Sacramento to buy and install them. I'd love to get a deal like you got, it would make the decision a no-brainer for me!
RENNtech springs on 18"
RENNtech springs on varies 19" old, newer, newest (top to bottom)
STOCK on 17"

i will... i have some before pics and the car is really dirty after the rain this week-end in So Cal... as soon as I wash it, i will post the AFTER.
BTW: these springs really drop the front and slightly the rear, therefore if you want a lower rear, you will need different spring pads, which are not very expensive.
I carry my kids and stuff around, therefore I did not want to rear to be too low.
Day 4 of the springs, and no problems and really no major change over stock ride with 18's. I bet with 17's it would be hard to tell the difference.
Renntech or Brabus are the way to go for softer drop but nice look. If want a hard drop H&R is probably the way to go.
if you have any questions e-mail Sander: s2access@yahoo.com The Wheel Supply.
he carries Brabus/H&R and Renntech.
Top gun - looking forward to seeing the pics.
AMGmark- the Brabus springs are looking good too, although it's a little hard to tell how much gap there is from that angle.
MercedeSC32 - I'll likely check into it this week. I'll let you know.

the picture I had with the 18" was on the #2 pads. The rest of them had the #1 pads. The Carlsson rims are my current setup.
The RENNtech's a little lower than the Brabus I believe, but as I understand Brabus springs actually a little softer and they will eventually settle more.

we all know how the BEFORE pics look like.
here are some AFTER pics. The rear height is almost stock, which is a good thing for me since I do carry the family around at times. 2 boys, wife, and bunch of baby equipment. However, most of the time I'm by my self.
A lower pad will make it drop a bit more, so those of you who want a lower rear, get your pads before.
My real problem was the front and the understeer. Both have been greatly improved.

Did you have your stock 17s chromed or are they machine polished??? They look incredible by the way!!
