SL55 Splitter or full intakes

I was just wondering if I should get the sl55 splitter or the whole intake including airboxes. What is evryone else running on their c32's, and do the airboxes bolt right up or is any modification needed. I know if I get the whole intake I will need a new engine cover, but is that it.

It depends to your budget and what has been done or what you are planning to do to your C32.

On a stock car splitter will provide most of HP gain.

On a car with pulleys, software and headers (Stage II) - complete airbox assembly would provide more power. You will also need green filters.

Here is a picture of C32 with 55 air boxes.

I am not going with the pulley kit yet or ecu in the near future But I do want more hp. Do the airboxes bolt right up? Where is the best place to purchase everything I need, My dealer is very expensive.

Vadim so a difference was definitely noticed with this setup? i am about to put it on my N/A car.I'm hoping it will help vs the old stck AMG cleaner that sits on the HOT intake mani!

Yes, they will pretty much bolt right up. Front cover will have to be trimmed.
Try Mike at 714.901.3100 x1 for pricing.

Yes, on CL500 AMG Kompressor airboxes were worth 15RWHP. On your 55 possibly more.

Install is half-hour. On stock car gains are minimal, 5HP. On Stage II car 10-15HP.

Bend or cut tabs at firewall so they don't puncture intake tubes.

hi Carl,

I doubt it, your 55 engine should have an air-box that provide the same in terms of performance vs newer style air-box. You could already get the new CLK55/C55 engine cover/airbox for looks tho.

Well, the stck airbox on my car I feel traps heat so I figured with the exposed intake look I would be able to eliminate some of that radiated heat from the manifold Please chime in!

I ordered the full set of splitters plus air box, K&N filters and clapms for like around 360 dollars. Hope i could get it in soon to see how it sounds. I think someone mentioned it sounds nice.

I had the SL55 Splitter/Green Filters and Evo Phenolic Spacer put on my car this week. It seems to sound different(air rush?) and on top of the other mods I've done, its almost too much. With my G-Tech device, trying to do just 0-60, no way I could get the power to the ground. I managed a 4.84 sec with tire spin from hell! Love it!! Need to figure out how to launch though.

I ordered from Silverstars motors here in NY, I got a 20 to 20% discount because I ordered under the Auto shop, they have an account with mercedes.

What is Evo Phenolic Spacer?
