new radiator??

OK, this whole radiator-transmission-leaking problem has me a little worried. I have a warranty for about 7 more months (thinking I should get an extended), but if I want to head off this problem before it happens, what radiator should I get, I am guessing I could find a "performnance" radiator w/ better cooling which is always a plus (especially with the summer heat here in Phx AZ). Anyone know of a direct fitting performance radiator I can pick up? Or what part is causing the problem and maybe I could just replace that!? thanks for the info..

soooo ,everyones in, but the questions still remains, where do we find a better one, AND what do we do to insure that the problem in fixed....??

I installed one on my 99 Ford Lightning, that was electric (less drag on the engine!) and it had a manuel switch that I could turn on while I was sitting in the staging lanes to help cool the engine off before I ran it down the quarter mile. Wouldnt mind finding another one for the Merc, but I cant remember what brand it was, although it was a pretty popluar brand...

Mercedes-Benz specifies an OEM replacement that doesn't have the problem - I think it's part of the service bulletin. Mine was replaced with that unit. Maybe you meant an improved aftermarket unit? Good luck regardless - and I suggest replacing it while all is well!

what unit are you talking about? did you replace the radiator? what brand? I found a brand called Nissin for $200 but I'm still doing reserch on it. I think our cars share the same radiators with C320 and C230 so I dont understand why only C32 are having this problems.

I just talk to the parts guy at mercedes (stead in Walnut creek) and he said that we do share the same radiator with a c320 and the C240. he will do some reserch for me to what brand they use on the new.

maybe I missed it in one of the posts, but what exactly is causing the leak? I would want to make sure that the problem is also fixed (I dont think the radiator is leaking directly into the tranny, if so then Merc builds their cars very differently )

Maybe if we could get the dimensions of the radiator we could find an electric fan to go with it that will save us some horsepower from the engine?!?! Am I way off here?

Maybe I am just nuts to be thinking all of this
