I've read a number of articles on the Viper - Z06 battle. The vette has come out on top every time. That car is just plain sick. I think one of the only slight advantages of the Viper is the braking....

They loved the Corvette.
They loved the Viper.
They loved the Cayman - and called it "superb".
Wasn't so much a comparo as just taking all three cars to the track on the same day, and then running and giving a review on each one of them.

As for the Z06 v Viper deal:
I drove a new Viper SRT10 Coupe the other night... blue with two white stripes, talk about badass. As much as everyone compares the speed and performance of the two, there is no doubt that they are direct competitors of one another, but the driving experience is so much different that, in my mind, you shouldn't be contemplating on whether to get a Viper or get a Z06.
Viper: might be one of the coolest and most unique driving experience I have ever had. The ****pit, as tiny as it is, is all business. With the radio simply put in there just to have it and everything else no thrills, all business, Vipers are all about direct driving experience. The torque and power delivery is so much different from the Z that you honestly don't even think to compare the two when you are driving the other...
Z06: I think everybody knows how I feel
Both are cars that, to this day, I don't know why the NHTSA would EVER allow these beasts on the road... and I'm lovin' every minute of it.
