How well does this car drive in the snow? Bad weather in general? If you put snow tires on the car can you get around on a snowy day or are you better off with another car?

Not only the C32, any rear wheel drive car is no good in the snow.

It certainly wouldn't be my pick (thats what the ML is for - that is, if it were to snow in Dallas ).

It is possible if you replace the tires with snow tires and are VERY careful and use the "Winter" settings on the transmission.

But you're asking for trouble, IMHO.

IdreamofAMG,

You are in luck. Bridgestone LM-22 makes a winter tire in both the C32 sizes.

225/45/17
245/40/17

New technology winter tires do not look like old - now the treads are low and nicer looking and not noisy. Plus it is H speed rated. This tread looks really good. Don't hesitate to buy them - winter tires are only pressed once a year and when your size sells out no more until next year. Good Luck.

Actually, with snow tires you want to run them thinner. I use 225's all the way around (Michelin Pilot Alpins). Buy them for the stock wheels, then buy new 18" or 19" wheels for the summer. That way you can swap them yourself. That's what i'm going to do. Just want to wear out these new stock tires since I had to buy snow tires the same week I bought my car (February). Snow is ok. I just dropped my car so i'm curious to see how they will perform this winter.

I have Dunlop Winter Sports (225's all round) on Mille Miglia Bello 17s wheels for the winter. Much, much better than stock and it runs pretty well in the snow with W setting. I'm in Chicagoland and had no problems last year after putting the winter tires on.

well, i dont have a c32... but after growing up in wisconsin and having such vehicles as a 300ZX and 560SL (both with factory rubber), i think that if you watch the accelerator you can do just fine in winter driving. i wouldnt suggest driving around with 6" of fresh flakes on the ground tho. we would also put weights into the trunk to help things... rear wheel drives do just fine in the snow, just ask any cop. you just have to drive more carefully. IMHO.

I drive a C43 in upstate NY and I have no problems. Together with ESP, winter mode, and snow tires, the C43 was great on ice and snow. I got the Nokian snow tires and they are supposed to be the best. Since the C43 has quite a lot of torque, there is no need to rev the engine very much, and so the power comes linearly and smoothly and the car was easy to control. The handling of the car was quite good, so oversteer was easily overcome. It was fun driving in the snow actually. I would prefer to drive my C43 over any SUV, since they have lousy handling. I would think you will do fine in your C32 since the ESP on that car is supposed to be even more advanced.
