Quote: I guess I should have asked you since you make them; it is a very NICE PIECE. I am a very picky person when it comes to quality workmanship, that’s because I am a Quality Engineer @ Daimler Chrysler, scrutinizing vehicles all day for a living makes you VERY **** about things. Can you if you have the time or pics send me some photos of where the holes are, or better yet your CAD drawings?

Thanks.
The holes are underneath the front bumper. I don't think Neal is going to send CAD drawings to anyone. Not with the amount of money invested in molds and such. LOL.

Beautiful car "sdsilverm3" really is one the sickest C55s out there.
I was thinkin of buyin the CF lip last week but i am hesitating, i live in Montreal, Canada and the streets here are f**in horrible!
Do you think it's too low for roads in bad condition or it'll be ok? i don't intend to install the lip then pick it up from the middle of the road after a couple of drives!

your car looks great ling! i should be getting my lip next week and hopefully it'll look as good on a grey colored car as it does on a white car.

how long did the install take? i'm kinda nervous about drilling holes.

Thanks for the compliment. I don't know how low your car is but with the addition of the lip my front end is pretty low. I have yet to scrape coming out of driveways but you definitely have to be careful when parking in spaces with the cement barriers or curbs in front of the car. Those will definitely do some damage. I will get some measurements for you later when I get home tonight.

Thanks Gene, I'm sure it'll look good on your car. Post some pics once you have it installed.

The install took me about 2.5 hours doing it by myself without a power drill. I had a drill but I couldn't get enough clearance for it to fit under the car. My car barely cleared the ramps but if I had installed the lip I'm sure the lip would have been ripped off on the way down. Install is pretty intuitive. Instructions tell you to get 3 people but you could probably use masking tape to secure the test fit.

Quote: Toooooo sweet for words. I was wondering how doe’s the CF lip attach to your car? Is it adhesive, screws or clips? Just curious I don’t want to drill any holes in my car even if it is at the bottom, just me I like things clean and nice like your ride.
You drill holes so it screws in the bottom of the bumper.

If you ever take off the lip the holes are TINY and you cannot even see them. The bottom of the bumper already has holes or clips. These almost look factroy since they are even.

I wondered how a CF Lip would look on a car like yours (white). Have to say, it is a perfect compliment to your setup. Love to see how your car is evolving, just keeps getting better and better.

After seeing that, I think I have to spend more money and pick up the CF lip myself. It's going to be an expensive couple of months.

I was not implying that he send me the CAD drawings of the CF lip itself that would be loco!! but of the cars bumper holes location. Its just a question up to him.

There are 2 holes on each side of the lip, and 10 holes in the front of the lip. I can try to dig up and post a pic from the instructions if you really wanted.

You didn't order it yet did you? I think we only have 3 or 4 left. That will probably be all that is made for quite some time from us since we have to move on with other projects.

Here are some pictures for you. Keep in mind my car is lowered and the measurements from the fender lip to the center of the wheel is 12.75". Your height may differ.

Kenzmbz, I'm still trying to work on getting you side profile pictures.

I'm getting it from another user, marktini. He traded his C55 for an SLK55 and never installed the lip so I'm taking it off his hands. He gave me a good deal

Thanx for the measurments man. My car isn't lowered at all so i think it should be ok if i'm careful.

Thanks Nico. I'm not a fan of black grilles. Maybe a CF grille (*ahem* Neal, next project ).

This is the only one I have so far. Took it while taking delivery. It hasn't changed much since then.

Thanks. I just try to keep things rather simple.

You're welcome. I think you should be okay if you're stock height. Just be careful when parking in spaces with the cement blocks at the end.

Neal is it?
No I did not order one that is why I am inquiring about attachment details so I can make a decision and order one. The lip is just the best looking piece I’ve seen so far and if it takes a while I can wait no problem. If you do have that instruction pic and can post it that will help very much and will be appreciated.

Thanks.
Dave.

Like I said, I still do a a few. As far as more after this, I said it can be a while. But I will not be guaranteeing or taking anymore orders on these. I really don't think we will be making more after we sell the few more we have left.

Here is the picture in the instructions. Its an underside pic of the lip showing where the screws go.

From a business perspective, I don't understand this. Sure, the C32 is no longer in production, but with the C230's getting the AMG kit now you should have a HUGE market out there of folks who have just begun modding and will be all over these. Assuming you've already covered the R&D costs, I can see a great potential for selling the lips in non-CF material (fiberglass, etc.) on ebay for a hefty profit margin. Heck, the hard work was already done, so for the love of modding try to sell the mold to a major tuner like Carlsson (since they make lips that appear so similar this might be your best bet), Brabus, Renntech, etc. who might be willing to pay you a nice chunk of change for the hard work you've already put in. If nothing else, sell it to a shady company like Europassion who could at least manufacture them relatively cheap and supply the demand!

Dude, there should be no debate...if Neal stops making these, you'll hate yourself later when you either can't get one or have to shell out big bucks for a custom lip.

Thanks, it'll look great on your car. Just get one and if you don't like it I'm sure you could sell it to someone else.
