rt-615 Azenis on C55?

I've spent 1 hour searching and reading posts on tire sizes and effect on ESP. Overall, what I read was confusing --- something about keeping the rear overall circumference smaller than the front is better for ESP. If the rear is bigger, it can confuse ESP. I've also read that the ESP can 'learn' and not cause problems after a short period of time.

The real issue here is that I autox and I want to use Falken RT-615 Azenis tires. They have the front size - 225/40R18, but the closest rear size is 245/40R18 (instead of 35 series). This will cause the rear circumference to be larger that the front. Even going to 235/40R18 in the front, the rear is still barely larger that the front.

Has anyone tried running 245/40R18 and can provide some rear world experience?

Thanks,

John

I'm not sure if this is going to help you out at all, but my brother has a C55 and he has winter rims on it right now. Non stagered setup, I believe they are 225/45/17, and i've driven the car many times and have never expierenced a problem with the esp.

it works on your brother's C55 b/c he's running 17 inch wheels not 18s.

why don't you just disable ESP when autox-ing and not worry about it

I have a C32 with 265/40/17 rear and 245/40/17 front. The rear is 1 in larger than the front. No problems on street or road courses. Is the ESP on a C55 the same as a C32
