Fender Damaged

I have only had my C55 for five months and have already damaged the fender. What happened is that I pulled in too far over a parking curb and while backing out I heard a real nasty snapping noise. Turns out the front bumper (directly beneath the fog lights) got snagged and while I backed out it tore all the way up to the left metal/mesh grill area.

Anyways, I have not gone to MB yet to get a quote yet and I am sure it will be at least $1500 since the whole bumper will probably have to be replaced. Is this something that insurance will typically cover? Anyone had a similar experience with their C55/C32. I will try to post a picture of the damage in the near future.

Sorry to hear that. One of my worst fears is damaging the bumper by hitting a parking block, so I usually end up parking at least a foot or more away from them. If I have a nice enough passenger, I'll ask them to help guide me within a few inches of the block to avoid "hanging out" too far.

for $1500, you might want to consider a brabus front bumper as a nice alternative to stock. i personally like the quad foglights.

So I went to the MB bodyshop yesterday evening. The repairs will be ~$1800. I haven't called my insurance yet, but the guy at MB said that insurance generally covers these sort of incidents. So now I am thinking about getting an aftermarket bumper. I would really love to get the C55 medical car bumper, but they are obviously not directly available here in the US. Does anyone know any sort of way of getting one? What other bumpers would you guys recommend?

Be careful about an insurance claim. They can mark it as an at fault accident which might raise your rates or make it more difficult to switch insurance companies. Happened to me.

Even though it is a comprehensive claim, the insurance company can claim it was something you could have avoided if you had been more careful and charge it as an at fault accident. I fought the insurance company but the state insurance commisioner said it was legal.
