Jack Points for Floor Jack on a C55

Hi, does anyone know where the jack point is on a C55 for floor jack use? I did a search and it seems like the jack point for non-AMG W203 is the differential but it seems like there was debate over the AMG cars due to the heat sink on the AMG diffs. Thanks in advance.

you mean if you want to use the floor jack? and not the crappy oem jack?

I think you'll need those really flat floor jack that you can use for the side which can be placed directly under the rubber jack mount for the oem jack. The heat sink on the C55 will be destroyed if you put all that weight from the rear on it. The C32 and rest of W203 can be jacked up from differential because it does not have that heat sink.

The OEM jack is actually fairly easy and effortless to use. I change from winter to summer tires (and vice versa) myself using the OEM jack all the time. My only fear is the jack suddenly collapsing on me in the middle of a wheel change......

Just make sure you jack the car up on a level surface.

yea that happened to me once... luckily, wheels were on, i was in the middle of tightening the bolts, car fell down, but parking brake was on. i just tighened the bolts up a little more and pulled up to a level surface.

I guess those of you who used to the factory jack don't have their car lowered. All went well for me on the way up. On the way down . The handle is a non-removable pivoting one. Meaning if your car is lowered the jack isn't coming out. The handle would just rake the ground and eventually got stuck.

After I got out of that mess my wheels bolts were too long. Started making the clicking noise in the rear. Wow what a morning.

sdsilverm3,

The next time you to have raise the C55, try this:

1. Buy 4 blocks of wood from Home Depot, 10" x 10" in size and 1"-1.5" thick or use something similar that would support the weight of the car.
2. Drive your car over the blocks of wood making sure the 4 wheels are centered on each block.
3. Use additional blocks of wood or something heavy to block the rear wheels from possible movement.
4. Use your factory jack and you will already have an additional 1"-1.5" of clearance as compared to your lowered height.

My beater car is lowered and I do this all the time to change the oil.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips Ken. I'll definitely be doing that tomorrow when the drag radials come off.
