Evosport C32s: Why is the plumbing mounted so high on the washer reservoir?
Last edited by pshek; Apr 27, 2006 at 05:39 AM.
It is the heat exchanger mounted directly below the supercharger that is failing on the C32's - not the intercooler mounted in front of the radiator.
Why would this need to be different on the Chrysler?

Anyone have a simple explanation?
If the front cooler were leaking it would not clog up the charge air since the coolant would just drip onto the belly pan and out the bottom of the car.
i got confused between the two. the heat exchanger is under the front bumper and the intercooler is below the supercharger. the slk32 and crossfire srt6 has a smaller heat exchanger because of the smaller chassis. intercooler is the same.

Not a very strong core might i add

This makes C32's look a little less fun on the used market. Pull the manifolds off before you take it home!!!
I am slightly worriend since V8k cars are starting to have the same issues as they get a bit older. Bet my cars start to leak sooner than later.
But I know SMGC32's core started leaking at less than 20k miles I think and finally we caught the issue at 30k miles when the car just would not cool charge air and when the car felt generally weak (intake runners were 80% clogged).
And of course there is no part to superceed the faulty current core. When you have a limited production car they tend to just leave the faulty parts alone and let you keep buying new ones.
Sad but true....
i asked my rep are you sure if not's the intercooler cause that's where the coolant run's thru and he assured me it wasn't and that the supercharger is making the coolant leak. i don't believe this. theres no way that coolant is running thru the supercharger.
ok guys let me ask is it possible and i might be wrong ???

are they covering this under warranty? i bet if they are, they are just trying to appease you so that they don't really have to fix the problem...

I am trying to recall what he said BUT I think that he said the blowers can get holes in it but the ozzing goo is not the problem a caused by a hole in the blower.
I would want to see the intercooler core my self to see if it is indeed leaking.
That being said it is NOT unheard of for these cars to need new blowers and or head gaskets.
Good luck and give Jon a message. He will be glad to help you out.

What kind of water did you put in your windshield reservoir for your cooling? did you put in distilled water or regular water along your redline water wetter...how much redline water wetter did you mix with the water?
Im planning on doing that too..since my car has the IC upgrade along with the Stage I..dont want windshield fluid to eat my intercooler core...
thanks!!

or do they have seperate reservoir? (ie; one for windscreen spray, and another for intercooler fluid)
I just bought redline water wetter today
mixed a bottle of waterwetter with a gallon of distilled water as well as anti-freeze(15% of 1 gallon)
hope its gonna keep cooling levels down a bit =P
