while the stress is not thru bending the little sway bar endlink, it will still flex and it could be strengthened. plus, those little rubber boots on the end tend to brake after a while.. then u get clunky suspension. part of the problem with mcpherson struts.

normally, it wouldn't be such a big deal, but since u guys are going with some nice pss9, why skimp on the other parts?

i'm sure there's one for the w203, here's a pic of the ones on my volvo..

Hi Furious

The settings of all 4 shocks are now '2'. My friend said this is the second highest stiffness ( '1' is most stiff ). Do you know which setting is one step softer than '2'? I intend to soften the rear a little and see how it feels.
The car runs much better now , cornering is like on rails.

3 is the next softest setting. I take it that the roads in hong kong are pretty smooth? there is no way i could get away with settings at 2 or 3 for daily driving on the roads in my part of the world.

Hi , just to clarify , in the scale of 1-9 , I was referring '2' to the most stiff setting and 1 is being the highest stiffness. ( Hope you were not referring '1' and '2' are softest?)

Can I confirm once more, '3' is softer than '2'?

Our roads are actually the worse overall because of relative less roads and too many overloaded trucks and fully loaded double deck buses which were constantly damaging the roads. Road works here is with us life-time until we die.

Big big improvement with the dampening and uncomfort vibrations after I corrected the incorrect tyres pressures. This morning , I had discovered the front left tire is 29.5 and front right tire is 32. After I changed both front to 29.5, the dampening and uncomfort vibrations (when the car is in slow flow motion) vanished!

Later on, I went to the same tire shop and asked them to release all the nitrogen gas from the tires and replaced with normal fresh air and set them to F32 and R34.

Believe or not, I went through those same rough and bumpy downhill roads, now with more tire pressure (32/34) and actually the bumpy feeling was further reduced!

I could never corner that fast with the C55 than the E90 now.
As a matter of fact, C55 suspension generates too much feedback and horrifying noises into the cabinet and I always have big confidence issue when I high speed corner on downhill rough roads.

May be it is a bit too early to say thank you to the PSS9, I really need to see how it is after 1000km. My feeling comparing with last week , is much better and I can leave the E90 alone and back to my C55 and can sleep well now.

Incidentally, the tire shop guy told me to try to set all the springs 5mm upward , this will improve the overall ride quality.

Pretty good experience to play with PSS9. My worry of screwing up my brand new E90 is ease a bit now.

Sway bars are my next consideration for the E90.
The E90 sports suspension option actually has thicker sway bars. I guess these of yours are much thicker than the original right?

BTW, friend of mine doing the PSS9 for my E90 told me that there should be something like a cap mounting over the towers at the front; which will give more stability and will improve steering at high speed corner.
They are not Tower bars , but what are they ?

yeah, a bit thicker, either way, u just wanna minize the flex in that puny endlink.

stock
take it off and u can probably bend it. these also have rubber boots around ball joints to prevent grit and sand from going in, they also tend to fail.

aftermarket
most adjustable endlinks also include Teflon-lined chromoly rod ends that are 100% SEALED and will not pound out, wear out, require lubrication, maintenance, or replacement. something to that end..

strut cap? maybe it just goes over the three or so studs that protrude at the top of the strut, so u could add the strut tower braces and then these caps on top of that. some of the dedicated racers create so much stress that the strut brace mounts are welded down to prevent flex

How's the ride on the PSS9s compared to stock?
At 2 or 1(stiffest), is it too harsh?
What setting is similar to stock; 3?

the ride is definately stiffer, but by no means harsh. 9 would be close to the stock suspension, but still a bit stiffer. I have mine set at 5 and have not gone down to 2. 2 would likely be too stiff for daily driving.
