You can push like a ****** and think they are on, then on the next go around checking everything you find it clicks in another 1/8". I hope the Magnecore's go on easier than the stockers.

Highly recommend
Ok, I changed over to the denso iridium IK16 plugs with some magnecor 8.5mm wires and the evosport SL55 intake upgrade (splitter + filters) and it is amazing. Highly recommend this mod. I can tell there is significant difference, didn't really think I would be able to...
Agree with previous comments;
car runs/idles much smoother...accelerates much easier than before (read less pedal input)....and seems to run better in the upper rpms...
Also I find that I'm now spinning tires in all of first gear. Before it used to spin a little and hook up. So there is certainly more power. Not sure whether its the plugs+wires or the intake upgrade but certainly when you combine them it's well worth it. Cost me all up $750 AUD and some scrapped knuckles.
Next will be the pulley kit (hopefully the new evosport kit) and ecu. Suggest these upgrades will work even better with pulley kit + ecu.

new plugs
Is the change in perfomance really just due to the new plugs?
One person saw improved performance with IK22, most saw improvement with IK16 plugs.
Do the new wires make a difference only after 30k-40k miles on the old wires?
In the old days, if one wanted good performance, they would change the plugs after 6k miles on the old plugs, and see a significant improvemnet.

Good cheap Pinots are hard to find. It is possible to find a good cheap red Zinfandel, though. Sanford, used to make a good Pinot, but it's not cheap.
Did you see Sideways (movie, he he)?

SC engages at 2900rpm
Actually the SC always engages at 2900rpm on a stock car. I just posed the same question on the board, you can read the comments.

well the plugs and wires are on...
I had a local shop install for $80 bucks and i got to stand there the whole time as he changed them. I kinda supervised the whole thing and even helped out.
It was a major pain and it took him about 2.5 hours, since the car was hot. We tried to cool it down with a fan.
its been really hot here in So Cal (inland empire) and it does idle smoother and run really clean on top. I do feel like my ECU is trying to adapt, since gear changes have shifted.
By the way, I was doing some WOT runs at nearby local open roads and I could feel loosing grip in 3rd.
I'm still planning to put back my resonator, to see I get a bit more low end torque back. I don't think the resonator made a huge difference, but I will try it.

You're so close to stage II now - why not spring for the SL55 Y-splitter and ECU? Then, the additional breathing will make you want to keep the reso delete.

actually Stage II included the headers... but you are right, I just need the splitter and ECU.
I went with the K16 Denso and the Magnacor wires... in all.. it was about $380 installed. Alot cheaper than a local tuner.
IC pump is next.. and the same mechanic is going to help me install.. this time I'll give him $50, since its an easy.
as mentioned.. its really hot, so I'm not seeing a big difference, but there is an improvement.

I know I'm wondering out of my forum, but would this upgrade on my C320 do me any good? any differences? Any reasons why no one went with NGK iridium plugs? sorry for the many questions.

We want more power too!
1. E/SL55 kompressor air boxes with K&N or Green Filters - 10RWHP
2. Underdrive Pulleys - 10-12 RWHP
3. Remove resonator - no power gain, but better sound
4. Powerchip software - 10-15 RWHP.
After that you will need to get cams and headers, which become major expense and than a Kleemann kompessor.
Dragon AMG got to 424 RWHP from 300 stock with above mods. Do a search, the threads that describe all these mods are fairly young, within last year or so.
