Right now there is a killer deal on the Canon Rebel XT. You should be able to get the camera w/kit lens for $650-700 and along with a $100 rebate. Even cheaper if you buy just the body only. [/QUOTE]

where is this deal at?

I have found a couple on ebay for around 1100 with many options and you also get the rebate ...

not familiar with the Canon Rebel XT ... was looking at a Nikon but dont really know **** about Digital SLRs

Canon EOS 350D Digital Rebel XT camera only, no lens at Dell.com for $799. Use 20% code N1WX4?DMM0LL01 which brings it down to about $640 then -$100 for the rebate gets you down to around $540.

If you're serious about getting a SLR do it now while the rebate is available. $540 is a very good deal. It doesn't come with a lens but the one it comes with is a POS anyway. If you really want that kit lens just get it off Ebay but I'd highly recommend getting something else.

I can't say much (negative or positive) about Nikon but I chose Canon because that's what I learned on. Most functions transfer over from camera to camera in the Canon line of products so it makes understanding things easier.

I just talked to him and he might chime in here and post them. If not I'll get them up soon.

great pic, but pic 2 looks like its been edited on photoshop more than the 1st.(i like the 1st pic more)
if none of thos has been photoshoped, i aplogized.
and yes Canon 350D (Rebel XT) could be the best bang for buck when talking about introduction SLR camera.
i just got one myself too, cant wait to play it after dark!

The blur effect is not from Photoshop but has been run through PS for other reasons. I replaced pic 2 with a better one. I think the lighting effect on the original gave it a weird look overall.

Next step up would be the 20D/30D. No rebate on those however but you could probably get a 20D under $1k. If you want to try Nikon, the D70 would be comparable.

Hello everyone! Wow, those are some great responses. I’m Eric, the one who took the picture.

Thanks to SDSILVERM3 for letting me shoot his sick *** ride.

I’m trying to add more automobile shots to my portfolio right now so if anyone’s got a nice car or bike and wants some shots just let me know.

Here's the finish wallpaper. Hope you all like it.

Thanks for doing the shoot!

You guys should jump on the opportunity since Eric needs more cars for his portfolio. He also does weddings as well if you guys need a photographer.

thanks for sharing guys! the pics look great!

do you think you could post up higher res pics so that there isn't the "stretching" blur when you put it on a "higher" res monitor? like at least 1600x1200? thanks!

Here you go. Take a picture of your computer monitor with the wallpaper. Would love to see it.

Thanks Frank. I honestly have no idea regarding price. Eric will have to answer if he wishes to do so.

Kool

I was wondering if it was a camera mount ... and just photoshop it out or my other thought was to shoot the car and then add the backgrounds later ..

my chase vehicle theory was crappy since I think the camera would vibrate too much you would have to be a steady fellow

what camera is that you are using?
