many thanks, I am a total idiot of headlamps engineeering, sound complicated if I have to open the lens and dont know which is the right level ? i thought auto-level si supposed to be functional and not sure what is the adverse effect if it is adjusted manually.

park 25 ft away from a wall on a level surface and turn the nut right on top of the headlamp.
no need to oped up the headlamp, just the hood.

You should check the swaybat mount for the auto-level first. If I remember cnt did some suspension work recently? Even if not the lights level is set by the front swaybar mount and a sensor on the passenger rear lower control arm. It determines the angle of the body and adjusts the lights accordingly.

I had issues whenever my car was worked on for warranty suspension work or for having the modified suspension installed. They always seemed to forget to re-position the sensor after they finished the job.

The knobs ontop of the lights should be a last resort and are more for fixing the left right allignment.
